I have gotten several offers to do Penthouse... I've always been on the fence about it but haven't been too sure yet. Can anyone offer me a list of pros and cons? I also know, IF I do Penthouse I will get porn offers which I def. don't want to do. What are your thoughts? Thanks a million!!

you're already out there sans clothing, so you might as well...and as for the other "offers" a polite, "no thank you" should do a body good

Playboy first, then Penthouse!;-)) You'd be perfect for either. That, from me, is a compliment of the highest kind, less than one percent of the models here on MM would ever hear that from me. You got " It ", rock it!!;-)

Well, you've got nekid pics on here, so you're already exposed nationally. Doing Penthouse would give you National Exposure.

What are you getting paid to be on MM? I'm sure you're getting porn offers thru here.

What will you get paid to do Penthouse?

See?

Buy a current issue of Penthouse, look it over, and decide for yourself if that is what you will like doing from now on. Once you do it, expectations will be that you will continue doing that from now on. Don't have any illusions about it, Penthouse is a hardcore porn magazine, so it can be expected that you are open to hardcore porn offers.

Porn offers come to models all the time regardless if they do Penthouse or Bikini work.
To these guys, Penthouse opens the door just a bit more for making these offers. Lots of future porn stars are born there.

Pick up a few issues and decide for yourself and set your limits for when offers DO come in.
Maybe look into getting an agent.

I have a few questions:

1)  Were you contacted, directly, by the publishers of Penthouse or were you contacted by a photographer, who has shot for them and who indicated that he wants to shoot you, for submission to the magazine?

2) You're naked on the internet.  You're 24 years old and not getting younger.  What is YOUR goal in modeling??  It seems to me that most internet models aspire to appear in internationally-circulated magazines that feature their genre. Why would you BE a nude glamour model if you didn't want to do Penthouse?

3) Have you seen a copy of Penthouse?  Is the material featured in the magazine within your comfort zone?

EDIT: depending on your answer to #1, did you ever contact Penthouse to see if they would be interested in featuring you?  I am a bit confused as to how this "opportunity" would present itself to you if you weren't gunning for it.

Thanks for all the questions but MY question was what are the PROS AND CONS.. not who contacted me. I also am a paid nude model so therefore it would be going an extra step! It's a pretty simple equation, nude models might go erotic, erotic might go hard core, get it? I do know it's obviously about comfort level...

That's kinda silly.  Do you not think that your CURRENT photos are being listed on erotic lists?  Do you not think that people, somewhere are masturbating while looking at your pics and consider them great erotica?  or that people elsewhere are condemning you as a pornographer?

No one can force you to take any "extra step" that you don't want to take.  Pick up a copy of Penthouse and see what the ladies in there are doing.  If you're comfortable doing what they're doing, then do the shoot.  If you're not comfortable doing it, ask yourself whether you COULD do that stuff, in exchange for the money and international exposure you'll get.  If the answer is still no, then your question has been answered: don't do Penthouse.

There is no such thing as being "lured in" to doing hardcore porn. As an adult, who is over 18, you set your own boundaries and decide what you are comfortable with. If you don't trust YOURSELF to be competent, and confident, in setting your own personal boundaries, then you (the universal "you," not you specifically) shouldn't be modeling at all.

I started out doing arts nude work only, then eventually did some glamour nude stuff, then some fetish and erotic content. I knew from the beginning I never wanted to give blow-jobs on camera, or shoot hardcore content with men, so I just never accepted those offers. It was that easy; no one tried to "win me over" to hardcore, or "lure me in." I just opted not to do that stuff.

It's really that easy.

The pros and cons are different for each individual. What I would consider a con of posing for penthouse may not bother you in the least bit.

Ask yourself, not complete strangers who dont know anything about you, your comfort levels, your career goals, your life goals, etc.

Your portfolio is mostly topless. I see your crotch showing slightly in a couple of your pics. I assume Penthouse will want some open leg shots. The con is that once you do those, you will likely be getting similar requests 24/7 from GWCs, amateurs and pros. If you get no other nude requests are you ready to pay your bills with those types of shoots?

Well you're definitely Penthouse material.  I think it could be a good springboard to other good material and exposure. But you will probably get some "porn" offers.

Being published in a national magazine sounds like a pretty good option...

And any other offers you get, that you don't want to pursue, you don't have to.

Every model, every woman, every person has the perfect right to say "no" when they don't want to do something.

Why wouldn't you shoot for Penthouse?

OK, so I guess my PM was not appreciated either since another wrote a very similar post here.  Pro's and con's.

Pro's - money and exposure.
Cons - Exposure and not able to control the images and or delete them.

Some will of course always find any work you do without clothes as trashy, but most will find a difference in appreciation of the work in Penthouse, which most find pretty trashy.

So if you care what those people think, then don't do it.  If the people you care about are more open minded, then go ahead.

Every person can say no all the want, but the reality is as soon as you shoot a level beyond what youre already shooting, and people see it, they all want that and nothing less.

Lets not pretend we havent all seen the "model shot nudes, but wont shoot nudes with me, wah wah wah" and "model has erotica in her port but will only do fine art with me, wah wah wah" threads in the forums.

Not only will you get a lot of porn offers, you'll get a lot of complaints when you turn them down. You may also see a decrease in your art/glam bookings, because theyd RATHER book you for porn or nothing at all.

Ditto on Shiva Kitty and Laura Unbound.

Having shot for Penthouse way back, one of my models became a photographer.  So it's what you WANT to do.

Ask Ken Marcus and Eric Miller....
