Studio Lighting Workshop, November 17

This is a true workshop where you will learn a variety of lighting techniques and setups from portrait, fine art, fashion and glamor photography. You will be photographing, Rhus, a very beautiful, experienced and talented model from Washington DC. As a participating photographer you will have the opportunity to shoot one on one with Rhus as we explore the use of studio lights and natural light. Models are chosen on their abilities to strike appropriate poses with limited direction and for their experience and knowledge of lighting and photography. The model will pose clothed and nude allowing us to see how light and shadow help create moods and emotions in fine art nude, boudoir and fashion images. Participants will have the use of a boom for overhead lighting, soft boxes, umbrellas, snoots and backgrounds from muslin to seamless paper. Images from previous workshops can be seen here:

The workshop is conducted by award winning photographer Bill Mason of Bill Mason Images. Bill has been a professional photographer for over 25 years. His work has been published in national magazines, print ads, websites and more. Bill has contributed to the portfolios of professional models and actors. He has worked with top art nude models, photographed fashion and runway shows and created portraits for a wide variety of clients from business professionals to entertainers to high school seniors. Bill has learned a variety of lighting techniques from master portrait photographers and fine art lighting experts that he has incorporated into his art and commercial photography. In turn, he shares these lighting styles with those attending the workshops.

The studio is spacious, clean and comfortable. Hardwood floors offer the opportunity to use the natural setting of the studio. High ceilings mean versatility in backgrounds and lighting setups. Props include furniture (chairs, tables, benches), antique bed, flowers and plants. Participants may bring along their own props and wardrobe.

The workshop runs from 10am to 5pm. Lunch is provided. The studio is located in Pottstown, PA.
Cost is $180. Payment in full is required to reserve your photography slot. Contact Bill Mason at 610-322-1833 or [email protected] for more details.
