They are promising new "Grandmother-friendly e-mail"

Bob says that he will charge users to have an "@goatse.cx" address, but that the cost will be small—less than $5 a year. There will also be no advertising. "The basic plan here is to offer people @goatse.cx e-mail addresses with a level of service consistent with the market leader (gmail.com). I also wanted to do this at a very low price with no advertising," he said. There won't be any trace of the original shock site's image anywhere in the new service, either. "Yes, this is an e-mail address your grandmother can use," he said.

When I was in college, one of the kids changed all the desktops in a graphics lab to Goatse. Fun times.

I was wondering if it was all a prank, but apparently it's on the level:

Because your link is a preview of coming attractions, it makes me wonder when the other shoe is going to drop.

LOL, you make me laugh.

Grandma's email account? Time will tell.

Maybe they plan to make goatse.cx gender and age neutral?

One thing I noticed is missing from the goatse narrative: the fact that goatse.cx (at least back when I was first subjected to it, either in 1999 or 2000) not only prominently featured that image, it also included javascript that spawned endless recursive alert boxes which effectively prevented the browser from navigating away from the site or from being closed via normal means.

You pretty much had to crash the browser to get that thing off your screen.

That might have been one of the goatse imitators, though, and not the original goatse.
