do you prefer having music on during a shoot?
Hey guys, Personally I love having music on during a shoot I find it helps me at times to get in the mood depending on the shoot. What are your opinions? Dec 08 12 04:27 pm Link Oh hell yes. Especially some techno or rock music. Dec 08 12 04:43 pm Link Indeed music helps set the tone and I let the model decide. They usually select a contemporary music station and we get to work. FBY1K Dec 09 12 02:48 am Link Always Dec 09 12 02:53 am Link i don't like awkward silences.... need music. Dec 09 12 03:12 am Link I let the model select the music they like. I do a kind of half pose, half dance thing so it helps me with creating new poses. Dec 09 12 09:39 am Link MUSIC!!! Must have a beat to the tune of the photo shoot~ Dec 09 12 09:45 am Link Always! Dec 09 12 09:52 am Link Should always always have music on during a shoot haha. Dec 09 12 12:26 pm Link Yes Dec 09 12 12:30 pm Link I have whatever type of music the Model likes to listen to during the shoot. Dec 09 12 12:30 pm Link I love having music on, but sometimes catch myself dancing like a goof. I never could dance so it's awkward. lol Dec 09 12 12:44 pm Link Most of my models bring their own shit. I just groove to it. Meanwhile I can only take but so much then ill put on my headphones and put on some psychedelic rock. Then im in my ZONE... Dec 09 12 02:38 pm Link I love music. I have way too many dancing shots from every shoot that has music playing, though. Bahaha. I think it is sometimes distracting for that reason, but keeps awkwardness to a minimum, especially in the beginning if you are shooting with a certain photographer for the first time. Dec 09 12 03:14 pm Link Yes I like music in a shoot. I want it to be background music and not so loud that it makes talking difficult. Dec 09 12 07:42 pm Link LOVE music during a shoot. It makes it so much easier to relax and get into the feel of the shoot, and therefore posing is more natural and it's easier to connect with the camera Dec 09 12 08:57 pm Link Yes music during a shoot is definitely a plus. It has to suit the style of the shoot though, or at least be something that the model and photographer enjoy - it really helps to get into the flow of work I suppose, and is handy to cover up any awkward silences too Dec 09 12 09:03 pm Link yes absolutely Dec 10 12 10:42 am Link If I remember to put it on... I like it. Most often I am so fucking focused that I forget. I used to ask the model's to bring their own music and I'd put it on. Because the amount of time a model has to hold one position... music that makes them want to move is out! lol Dec 10 12 01:34 pm Link I bring some musicians in and they play chamber music. Later on they break out into some Gregorian chant. Dec 10 12 01:52 pm Link Always!! What seems to go down well lately is anything (but particularly this track) by the Semi Precious Weapons... http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=FufQs6oeEDI "I can't pay my rent but I'm fucking gorgeous!" Just my $0.02 Ciao Stefano www.stefanobrunesci.com Dec 10 12 01:55 pm Link I love it! When I do vintage style, I like to play electroswing. But almost any music is good! It helps me find better poses, and helps me make better expressions. Dec 10 12 01:55 pm Link House music! Dec 10 12 01:59 pm Link do you prefer having music on during a shoot? Yes... in fact both SM studios and the white cove have stereo systems that are dockable to your favorite Ipod tunes... or you can boogy to our selection of 80's and 90's and 2000 classic rock and R&B... I don't even own a stereo, and I've only got three or four CDs. I guess I could turn on Pandora or something with this laptop. But, they never say anything. Dec 10 12 03:53 pm Link TheHonoraryLoli wrote: I agree! Its some of my favorite music! Dec 11 12 10:51 pm Link Dec 11 12 10:56 pm Link hell yes. without music ... naw thats not possible Dec 11 12 10:59 pm Link Opinion? Do whatcha feel Dec 11 12 11:45 pm Link We just got rid of the cassette player and the 8-track player so you'll have to bring your digital or select from our vinyl records. Dec 12 12 12:03 am Link The music would have to suit the shoot otherwise I'd feel a tad off. I've yet o do a shoot with music in the background though, so I don't really know. Ill have to try it. Dec 12 12 12:59 am Link Yes, recommended songs include: Girls on Film - Duran Duran Take a Picture - Filter I'll Wait - Van Halen Turning Japanese - The Vapors Dec 12 12 07:17 pm Link I like to listen to reggae when I shoot. Calms the nerves and helps the creativity Dec 12 12 07:20 pm Link Sure, as long as it's not 70's pop rock. anything but that. Dec 12 12 07:20 pm Link I love listening to classic rock while shooting or even brainstorming idea's with photographers. Dec 12 12 11:04 pm Link I'll have to give that some thought. I think classical music would be OK while things are being put together, and then I wouldn't care during shooting. But so far I haven't used any, and I see that as something of an oversight. Dec 12 12 11:26 pm Link I find it's a must; if anything it helps to avoid moments of deafening awkward silence. Dec 13 12 12:10 am Link |
