Just took these 10 minutes ago totally unrelated to modelmayhem style photography but here goes anyways.

I'm linking from FB so there might be shitty FB compression going on

These both bore me to death hmm

the first one- *always watch for where the light is hitting your model, it should be on her face not on her shoulder!
*Watch for facial expressions because this one is not a good one.

second one- model is too close to the background, crop is odd and the outfit is terrible

2 lovely images!
The first one is very interesting, the makeup application looks well done.
Perhaps the photographer could have done a more higher end retouch and given you a more flattering picture!!
but that's not your fault

I really love the makeup in this second one, you're good smile
Again maybe slight problem w retouching but no big deal

I actually hate it.
The post processing, the crop, the models expression.. The lace

So for a critique I'd say maybe look at the professionals, study portraiture and keep working at it.

The one on the left.. Your expression is TERRIBLE
I'm sorry, still looking confused/ lost.. Not sexy hmm
The full body shot on the otherside is way more what a models expression should look like!
Natural easy sexy

Hate it Jorge!

We know you're not about being conventional and following rules
You make art and not what "should be"

But personally for me it's not working.. The eyes and the mouth, just no!

While I do enjoy some of your work this particular photo is super boring for me.
My 3 biggest problems are
* no connection with model
* THe distracting hands/elbows
* her expression
In my opinion this photo does not stand out!

this is all very amature work.
I guess you have to start somewhere right?
If would really love to pursue modeling seriously i would start studying mens fashion magazine, practicing in front of the mirror and working with better photographers, you will most likely need to pay them, but think of the great experience/ photos you will have gained smile

First one- I don't see anything technically wrong. I like the location and the post processing.  The problem
Is I've seen this style done 1099654578 times before haha
And I would have liked to see more light on the models face

I like this! I get that it's supposed to be edgy with the shadows but again id like to see more light on the models face.
I don't know what length you shot this at but perhaps your perspective is off a bit. Models arm looks tiny! (Maybe she's just tiny smile)

May I ask what is amature about the pictures? Is it my poses? the setting?

Everything really. the poses, not so much the setting but the way the setting was handled and the post processing.

The first photo is amateur looking BUT i do not mind it. At least it evokes an emotion and makes you feel light and airy.. i wish i was there with them! smile

Second picture is very fine arty.
I am a black and white lover so i am a bit biased. the bright orange red is shocking as well as the over exposed candle light but  i do like this photo.. the blurred girl and the candles work well and has a sexy vibe:)

as it is fine art i feel as if i cant really critique it.. because you've purposefully broken all the technical rules.

Hmmm?

Ok, i am sorry but i have no feelings for these photos....
they are very contrived to have an angsty edgy feeling and personally i am not feeling it. They are all amateur looking and
lack some sort of polish

In the first one why is there a white line over your chest?! would work better without it perhaps.

The first photo is a bit disturbing in a good way.
you being the model there is not much to critique as all i can see are your eyes and hair haha.
Your eyes do look beautiful though. smile

Second photo, the first thing i noticed was the HORRIBLE black and white.. i dont know what the photographer did,  looks off hmm
I know this is not your fault but it really bothers me.

The lighting in this picture really distracts from you the model.
i think your pose is nice and facial expression is just ehhhhh...

firstly, not enough contrast in this photo, esp with a dark skinned model.

this location looks cool enough but what the fuck is going on with her outfit!??! and even worse her pose!!!
This photo makes no sense. Why is she awkwardly hugging/ leaning on these rocks? and why does it look like she just got home from work? The choice of wardrobe is not good at all.

ok ill start off with the good.
COOL ASS COUCH! I really want one

tThe colors in this are vibrant and light.

your pose is not bad

The bad:

your expression looks scared and confused.. not sexy

and at the end of the day its just a photo of a girl standing on a couch in a room..
SUPER BORING.
