I'm thinking about it. What do you think? I would try Amateur Award as I've been bodypainting only a few times. I have no idea what to prepare LOL And it will get more expensive and plus I need to bring my kit with me. I'm going 3 countries in EU on this trip and I will be there about a month.

You may compete as an Amateur only if you have not been paid for a body painting.
As I do not see any body paintings in your MM portfolio and as your are new to body painting try to take some workshops. If you do compete the days are long and it takes a lot out of you. Workshops will add to that, if not there do take some classes in the USA. People ask as lot of advice on line, look at a lot of others portfolios to learn but getting with a pro really can advance you more quickly.

As for your kit pack light esp since your traveling around. Supplies and product is available for sale at the WBPF.

I sugget you take and extra 1-2 memory cards and extra battery for your camera. It is easy to fill up your camera fast as there is just so much eye candy.

Have fun the change to July 4th dates will keep me from returning to Austria for at least another 2 years. I make so much money over those dates I can not justify the financial loss. This is true of several good American body painters who also run face art businesses, we just can't make those new dates.

Have fun.

I"m sorry that I didn't see this post last week.  There was a relatively small but fun bodypainting convention here with lots of classes, jams, and shows at several different venues.  Most of the people came in from several western states.

A few of the photos from the event can be seen in my portfolio and on their website:

It wouldn't be a bad idea to "Like" that page so you don't miss another one.

There are several body painting events now in the USA and worldwide. Some are conventions, some are conventions with competitions, some are just competitions and some are jams (as last months event in vegas).

Non will compare to Austria, The World Body Painting Festival.  The best events pull in the top body painters worldwide, these that do that are the best - the UK, Australia, Korea, Belguim .....

When the first US Body Painting Competition and Festival was held in the USA  American's did not support it and it failed after two year. It was really a great event competing but intimate and friendly, the top talents that were there were supportive to new unknown painters. Sad that 2006 and 2007 was too early for this now exploding art form.

There was really no need to resurrect a 4 year old dead thread so you could spam it. Why don't you just post an availability notice?
