Sunday, June 16, 1:50 pm CST. I have an hour to blow, so bring it on! If you ask for it, I'm going to give to you exactly as I see it. If it's hot, I'll call it hot. If you're mostly looking good but you need a couple shots thrown out of your port, I'll not only tell you which ones but I'll also tell you what's missing in your port. But if it's bad, I'm going to suggest you go for a new look. Okay, sorry, that's it for today. don't want to leave you hanging. I'll respond to those already on there.

Azia Rose wrote: Yes please Hi Azia, thanks for being my first victim. Your look has a lot of potential but the photography isn't really pulling it out of you. You've got these great long, lithe legs and arms, and yet there isn't a single shot that really shows them off. The shots of you on the rocks was a great opportunity to really showcase your legs, and yet you're squatting in one shot, laying on the rock, it's just not working for me. But it's not you. My advice to you is to find a kick-ass photographer in your area and become his/her muse. I look forward to seeing what you can come up with in your next shoots. Ron

MeganJeanne wrote: yesplease Okay, we have a photographer in the house. All right, Megan, here's the deal. You've got 13 pics in your port, 10 have this gauzy, kinda flared-out look that seems to be your brand. I look at those 10 pics and think, this is who Megan is as a photographer. Your signature look. I think a lot of photographers try to be everything to everyone, and end up with this mixed-up look that is not really identifiable. I think you have your look, so stick with it, keep pushing yourself in that direction. This is my favorite shot of yours in this style: https://www.modelmayhem.com/portfolio/pic/31810676 The others are not necessarily weaker, but more so this one just spoke to me more. Then you've got a normal studio shot (https://www.modelmayhem.com/portfolio/pic/32315823) and then two shots with really cool dramatic lighting. So you've got your signature style that dominates your port as it should, and then some examples of different directions you can go. I'm totally digging this. I'm hope you're enjoying some success out there in San Clemente. If not, keep plugging away, it will come your way. Ron

Nova Rai wrote: Please and thank you. Nova, damn, you're trying to make things difficult for me, aren't you? Your port is all over the place. First, get rid of those Rachel Christine photos. They're not that good -- the second one is pretty good -- but her watermark all over the place just kills the shot. Totally amateur. Your zombie shots at the end just doesn't work for me. They don't really showcase you, just not well done. But this one is well done: https://www.modelmayhem.com/portfolio/pic/30846966 You had a really cool look going on here: https://www.modelmayhem.com/portfolio/pic/29806165 -- but the short depth of field isn't what that shot calls for. That purse needs to be in focus. This is a good look: https://www.modelmayhem.com/portfolio/pic/32422113 -- but the background is just way too cluttered. In your portfolio, the attention needs to be locked dead-on you. It's gotta be a thing where people see your image and they can't pull their eyes away from you. But when you have crap vying for attention, it's just not going to work in a portfolio shot. You've got a really nice look going but you need to work with better photographers. Get out there and get some shoots in!

Danielle Reid wrote: Added new photos let me know what you think please Sorry, not a lot to say here. Your avatar shot is solid. And that, unfortunately, is about the end of it. Your red hair gives you a unique look, and you seem very comfortable with your body. But you either have to find a photographer who can pose, or you have to learn some poses. But the photography itself is just killing you. Problem is, it's too easy these days to own a dSLR camera and call yourself a photographer. You've been shot by GWCs. Go find yourself a hot photographer and make some things happen.

Not sure why you call yourself green, Ruben, unless you're just politely saying that you're still learning. We all are. I'm extremely jealous of the dancers you've gotten to pose for you, and you've done a really nice job with them. While you're not yet an agency photographer in NYC, you're also not green. I like that you have a consistent look to your photography, so people know what they're going to get out of you. I don't see shots that really blow me away, but you're getting very close to that. Keep pluggin' away, experiment, get out of your comfort zone, and let's see where you go.

See this shot: https://www.modelmayhem.com/portfolio/pic/30786658 Nice! All others, not so. Step away from your models, give them some space, work with the environment. when you're shooting, slow down. Feel the shot, don't overthink it.

John Serratelli wrote: hello, I'd like to hear John, you've got access to some gorgeous models, but my first question for you is where are you going with your photography? Are you a bikini photographer? If so, I think you really need to study the genre and really learn how to pose your models. You can't just expect them to know what to do. You've got some great exposure, decent light, but you've got to help them look good. Keep working on it.

T R A N Q U I L I T Y wrote: I'm game yes please Holy cow, you've got some pictures in your port -- but I'm talking about quantity over quality. Your port currently has like 109 pics, but a lot of them are replicates of each other. At most, pick your best 2 or 3 pics from each model and go with that, and your port will actually get better with fewer pictures. It kills me that this picture is soft: https://www.modelmayhem.com/portfolio/pic/30853142 Maybe soft is your style, as I noticed it in a few pics, but man, just not my thing usually.

Zachary Carpenter wrote: I'd like to know. Zach, WTF? I look at your port, and I think, "wow!" this guy's a seasoned pro. Great lighting, great models, great composition, and great posing of the models. Then I go to your website and you look like you've just graduated from HS, and the pictures on your website are nothing like on your MM port. It's like multiple personalities. If you controlled the models, designed the lighting, in your MM port, you're a stud, and every MM model should be clamoring to do a shoot with you, even if you were 14 years old. (hyperbole for effect) And if those are your shots as I presume they are, you need to work on your website and get these on there. Ron

We just need more from you, that's all, but continue to be selective in who you shoot. So far, your choices have been phenomenal.

But I love this shot: https://www.modelmayhem.com/portfolio/pic/32041450 -- I'd like it better in B&W. This shot is lovely: https://www.modelmayhem.com/portfolio/pic/27723632 But I don't really care for the rest of the shots in your port. But it's not you, you just need to find better photographers to work with. The indoor shots in the direct sunlight and shadows, that's tough to pull off. For me, it just doesn't work for you. Get some better shots in there, and let's see where you go!
