Just don't let your shit get too backed up. It sucks to unclog toilets.

Pretty much.

I felt what you said resonated with me with many guitarists but this new Megan Trainor vid, I thought the lyrics were so self-important I thought, "Shouldn't you be way hotter to sing this?"

Catchy song though.

I give her props though for not editing out her fall in the live version on Jimmy Kimmel.
A little confused why her backup dancers are the kind of chicks she makes fun of in 'All About The Bass'.
Hummm.

You are right, its an awesome song.

Shame that she has to bash in her other song though, the hateful bashing tarnishes her to me.

I think she has a great face and I think she is attractive.

It's a pop song -- I don't read that much into the lyrics of pop songs. I did not even check to see if she actually wrote the lyrics herself.

I think she sings well and writes well.  She is a songwriter.  As far as this song, errr, it's very, very catchy but something turned me off she singing it... anyone singing it really.  That's why it's the first thing I thought of with this thread title whether she wrote it or not (she did write it).

I like MT's songs but she seems to contradict herself a lot with the messages she writes about weight and such.  Attractiveness?  She's ok, but not backing 'it' or it all enough to be so self-important. The song isn't about how she looks of course but I don't like the message.  All I hear is, "I'm so great and you want to be me"... um no.

I had the same feeling but different commentary for this song:

Do MT and Madonna have the same pink jacket? ha ha nah, Madonna's has more bling.

I had a laugh when I heard Jennifer Lopez's song:

Maybe MT and JL should get together on women's issues.  lol

She did write the song, and she thinks she's a genius.

How do you start a song, with the melody or the lyrics?

MT: Melodies are very easy for me. I can get that done in minutes. But the words, I had to learn how to craft them perfectly, and All About That Bass was the first time I was like, "every part of this is genius and I love it."

If you are a genius, do you self-proclaim it?  There are other artists that I thought were/are geniuses.  Except for John's flub saying he was bigger than Jesus (I forgive him), tone that shit down.

MT: When I write songs, I'll pick a topic but I don't get too specific. I don't say "he" or "she". I don't say "you" or "me". I avoid all that stuff so I can relate to everyone.

She is a walking contradiction.
In 'Me Too' I get a little creeped out she laughing; it doesn't seem to fit the rest of the song.  Like she jumped in a time capsule and laughed at 59 or something.
