How helpful have comp cards been for you as a model? Would you recommend them for new models, or is there another medium that has worked better for you?

Comp Cards

Lexi I've created Zed Cards (Comp Cards) for models which they leave with every industry contact they meet... For many this has resulted in offers for Runway; Photo shoots and Brand Ambassador gigs... Much depends on the market you're targeting thought...

Until you are signed by an agency a Zed Card is a wise item to always carry with you rather than either a business card (which will likely be ignored) or bringing your physical book to a casting; open call or such.  Since they are typically 5x8 inches they're easy to bring along.   Considering Zed Cards are close to the same price to print as business cards most consider them to offer more value/worth...

btw, Zed Cards are standard for Actors... probably more so than a physical book...

Hope this helps...

Sedcards  are still essential.
Better than business cards, as you've got an immediate impression.
It often happens that the collected sedcards from castings and gosees makes you remember the model for another production.

As a beginner, use comp cards only if you have amazing photos. If you don't have great photos then just go with one headshot image to the agencies. A comp card with one bad photo could mean they don't even leave the their computers to come and see you in person. They just tell the secretary to let you know they are not interested. Comp cards can be good but also can hurt your chances depending on the images. Some like to just have one amazing headshot that forces the agent to come out and meet the real you and then at that point your personality and natural look could win them over. Good luck.
