How to achieve this look?
Hello my friends, I saw this picture and I´m still stunned! https://pp.userapi.com/c637328/v6373281 … v3RC70.jpg How can I achieve this colour grading and this "crispy" skin? Any ideas? Any tutorials suggestions? Here is the original picture and the thread: https://drive.google.com/drive/folders/ … VRMN3Fub2s https://www.modelmayhem.com/forums/post/965599 Greetings Jeff :-) Jan 08 18 12:43 pm Link It is over sharpened and that creates the illusion of detail. Additionally some bad masking seems to have been applied (see the arm contour left of that knee and the hair touching her neck, etc.) It's a technically defective image. Jan 08 18 01:54 pm Link Check out the retouching tutorials by Jessica Kobeissi on YouTube. She has a similar colour / editing process I think. Jan 08 18 05:57 pm Link Jeff just ask the retoucher who did the retouching, seen as you know who they are and how to contact them but with that said, I think you can aim higher for inspiration Jan 10 18 10:01 pm Link Its simple dodge and burn , but also the lighting has to be perfect, here we can see it is soft light from a reflective light source, and then some good colour grading will give you the final touch . You can check out my before/after of the retouch here http://varunpatelphotography.com/blog/p … -workflow/ Jan 13 18 08:39 am Link See the image in print and you may think differently... over saturated. Jan 18 18 02:38 pm Link This will show you how. You'll need a well exposed image. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=wOiiQI6VigI Jan 18 18 05:31 pm Link Jun 22 18 02:23 am Link Jeff as previously mentioned... not an image one would want to emulate... For openers, it is obvious from the nose shadow that this is initially a "loop lighting" scenario... However the dodge and burn isn't even close to what this lighting would generate... This seems to be a common issue with retouchers who are clueless about studio lighting... Same issue for beauty retouchers who are clueless about facial features and makeup... It is unlikely one will reach the zenith of thier craft unless they first master studio illumination, facial morphology and makeup artistry... oh well... I wish you all the best on your journey Jeff Jun 23 18 05:23 pm Link bmacedo wrote: good practice job. If you at what you've done one thing to consider is: does it feel natural? Sometimes I find the dodge and burn to look artificial, but that's me and some clients I have shot for. . . Jun 23 18 11:44 pm Link Jun 25 18 08:06 am Link |
