A 27-year-old Indian man plans to sue his parents for giving birth to him without his consent.

Mumbai businessman Raphael Samuel told the BBC that it's wrong to bring children into the world because they then have to put up with lifelong suffering.

Loved his Mom's response:

"I must admire my son's temerity to want to take his parents to court knowing both of us are lawyers. And if Raphael could come up with a rational explanation as to how we could have sought his consent to be born, I will accept my fault," she said.

Well, it goes to show that just because a philosophical proposition is accurate (and can be backed up with evidence in certain specific circumstances) doesn't mean it can be implemented as policy, much less defended in court. For most people, a whole mess of philosophical propositions amount to "well, that's certainly interesting... definitely food for thought. But I'm running late for work, so good luck with all that..." tongue

Not really new:

This would fall under the category of "absurdist" Existentialism. Franz Kafka would be proud.

Isn't it his own fault that he's been reincarnated in his present form?

He might also consider suing God for creating the world.  And also both sets of grandparents for giving birth to his parents.  And also himself for existing and not being able to find anything good about existing.  While he's at it, he can sue any person he is near for being near him, since he didn't want them to be near him and they should have known that.

And their son would benefit greatly from 24/7 counseling in an institution.
