This member is awaiting for approval or has removed their profile

it means just that, except what it doesn't say is that MM may have removed the profile as well.
It's the same message for someone that removed their own profile or for scammers, spammers and rulebreakers that MM removed.

The account holder will see the profile whether it's active or not.

If you were able to see the profile before, and now it gets the message that's displayed above and the member (in this case the model) says they didn't remove their profile... 99.9% chance that you're dealing with a scammer.

If the profile was never visible and the same message appears, the profile wasn't approved.  The person may not have had enough  photos, a selfie, poor quality photos or one of several other reasons why profiles don't get approved.  When that happens the person is notified and can re-submit after the problem is rectified. 

If the profile was never visible and the same message appears and the person WASN'T notified that they can re-submit, that person was declined with little or no chance of being re-submitted ("agent's", "managers", people networking for porn or prostitution are some of the examples and the other reasons include scammers, spammers, and fakes).

Sometimes it can take a week (or longer) for a profile to be approved, however at this moment it shouldn't take more than a day.

She's definitely not a scammer, we just did a shoot together. Her profile finally showed up but now I can't send her friend request. I have sent it several times (I know she is waiting to accept it) but every time I go back to her profile it says add friend.
