Friends (60)About Me
I'm drawn to moments of spontaneous intimacy (be it human-object, human-human, object-object), which is what compelled me to pick up my camera and start shooting six years ago.
Visually, I like subtlety. I believe the subdued and nuanced can convey the same, if not greater, level of intimacy than the bold and punchy. A bit about my photography: I shoot street portraits using prime lenses, full manual exposure and manual focus, and I see the value in such a strict and disciplined approach to photography. Rather than feeling bogged down by shooting manual, I feel liberated that I’m in total control of the image I’m making and relish being able to react and adjust my camera settings intuitively – as if I am the camera. I’ve learnt a great deal about exposure this way and, because I shoot with primes, I’m able to frame the scene without having to rely on my viewfinder. I see the shot, bring the camera up to my eye, confirm the focus and framing quickly, and press the shutter. It’s exhilarating stuff. To get in touch, just PM me.
