About Me

New to the Boston area. I Moved out here from LA about 3 years ago. Before LA I was born and raised in Texas. I graduated from the University of Texas in 2004 with a Bachelors of Fine Art.

My day job is as a UPM or Production Supervisor for film, commercial, and television production. I have worked professionally in the Production Industry for Almost 18 years now. I love what I do and I couldn't imagine a better life. I have been blessed with the opportunity to work and travel all over the world, to work Superbowls and NBA Finals, to manage TV shows and films, to supervise and produce national spots, & as well as directing my own personal projects. You can see my web site for a selection of my most current production credits, photography, and bio.

As for photography, it's truly my passion. I fell in love with photography in college working in the dark room. I love the process of developing film and printing in the lab. My first job was as a projectionist at a movie theater. That began my love of the film strip. I started off both film and photography career on film. I have a deep love for the celluloid film strip. Although I don't shoot on film anymore, I still use all the same principles & skillsets that shooting film required. I aspire to develop & maintain my own artistic and personal aesthetic. That's not something I can plug into an app or a camera. I still need the math and the science that I learned shooting on all manual cameras and on film.

As for my style, I love capturing a sense of movement, I am drawn to empty space as well as structure, I love pushing up to the edge of surreal but also staying grounded, and as you can tell from my photographs below, I am truly fascinated and obsessed with color and color contrast. I love the post process. Just like my days with film, the real magic for me still happens in the darkroom, or now away days in the virtual darkroom. Processing and retouching and enhancing the raw image has, and I hope always will, carry with it the excitement, anticipation, magic, and mystery that made me fall in love with this whole process in the first place.
