About Me

Marcus, 37, was born in Bossier City Louisiana and raised in Memphis TN. At the age of 7, Marcus was considered one of the more creative siblings of his four brothers and sisters. He would love to assist his mother with decorating the house, lawn work, and giving his very strong opinion about garments when shopping with the family. By the age of 12, Marcus realized, some thing just did not match his ideas and visions so, he began to learn ways to bring them to life on his own. With the help of a glue gun, safety pins and occasionally a needle and thread, he found ways to bring his imagination to life.
For five years, Marcus experimented with many things but found his self more than passionate about how he could make these amazing creations from scratch. Over the next couple of years, Marcus taught himself how to operate a sewing machine and began to deconstruct garments to memorize the shapes of each piece. After putting enough time into this art form he loved so much, he dropped out of school and took his talents anywhere that would allow him to express himself creatively. From dance teams to pageants, Marcus was on the ride of his life, or so he thought. After many years of traveling the country with his gift, several good and bad moments, Marcus began to realize he had what it takes to be a respected fashion designer and make a career of his passion.
With his heart set on being the best he could be, Marcus decided he would return to school to get his GED and enroll in The Art Institute of Atlanta Decatur. With his eyes on the prize and the knowledge he is obtaining form school, Marcus is now in a place where he can not only be the designer he has always wanted to be but also, understand his passion more from a professional point of view. Now, in his second year of school, Marcus has developed a very strong skillset and the confidence to turn his passion into a career.
