Jun 11 14 07:04 am Link Dear Top Drawer Members, For your consideration I would like to present Ms. Kimberly Ann Young as a candidate of "NEWbie Model of the Week". (MM# 3053573) Other than candid images taken by her friends, last weekend was Kim's VERY FIRST photo shoot ever. It was fun to watch Kimberly progress as she became less inhibited and relaxed as we moved forward. Considering this was her first experience, I felt Kim did a wonderful job following directions and intensely listened to my suggestions and modeling concepts. I believe she will quickly progress beyond the "Newbie" status as she shoots with additional photographers in the near future. Working with Kim was a wonderful experience and I feel our shoot represented everything the "Newbie Model of the Week" is all about. Thank you again for you kind consideration of this lovely young lady with big dreams of becoming a successful model in the future. It was a super experience for both of us! She fell in love with being in front of the camera and with my encouragement decided to pursue modeling. Her second shoot was a more commercial look and the last 3 images were all used as promo shots for an upcoming runway show she will be walking in July 24th. The distance she has come in just 3 months is staggering. Pls give her the support she so richly deserves.      We both thank you in advance for your consideration. I recently photographed Laura in a tiny cheap hotel in China on a steamy hot summer day. There was only minimal air conditioning (more like barely perceptible air flow coming out of the unit); I was drenched in sweat, but Laura went through the whole shoot as if such horrible elements did not exist. (Her MM#2787245) I had the opportunity to work with Janae shortly after her enrollment into Model Mayhem on September 18th, 2012. (Our actual shoot date was on October 21st, 2012) As with so many models here within MM, Janae must balance her passion and dreams to become a successful full time model with her everyday realities of a working 24 year old young woman. Janae is truly a gem of a person. Janae loves the "edgy" and alternative look and tries to focus her images towards this creative and fun vent. I found Janae to be very fun loving and an absolute pleasure to work with. She came to her shoot on time and totally prepared! Standing at 5'8", in my opinion, Janae has all of the right attributes required for a diverse and successful modeling career in the years ahead! She has little experience, but looking at her shots you would believe she was a seasoned professional. Her number is 3482072. Enjoy..!!      Nov 23 14 04:20 pm Link Ladies and Gentlemen of the Top Drawer, please allow me to introduce to Tasha56. I ran this entry psat Tom as she has technically exceeded the standard 12 month Newbie period...but for an exceptional reason. She came out of thee gate with a bang, but has not been very active for the last 6 months. The reason ? She has been diagnosed, at the ago of 23, with an extremely rare form of cancer, a tumor at the base of her spine. She finished her first round of chemo just before Christmas, It has cost her all her hair, eyebrows and eyelashes. Her immune system is compromised, just coming to my studio was a risk. She is pain and was sore for days after the shoot. She has a meeting Jan 5th with her Dr to discuss surgery to remove the tumor. From what she currently understands, depending on how intertwined the tumor is and how many nerves have to be cut, she runs about a 40% chance of being paralyzed from the waist down. I tell you all this NOT to ply for the sympathy vote. Neither of us wants that. I simply want you to understand what it took for her just to walk INTO my studio, much less produce results like these. The young lady walked into my studio, right on time, with multiple outfits, wigs, and with the help of amazing MUA Alison Levenick redid her lashes and eyebrows. You would never had known she was battling such a horrible disease. Energetic, outgoing and passionate she was simply amazing and her attitude was "can do". We shot 4 looks and never once did she complain or ask to take a break. Her attitude was absolutely amazing as is her look.
