July 07, 2007 12:19am I get asked alot about this. The trick to this shot is the crop. Nobody does square crops - because it's harder than it looks. (Try it sometime! LOL) I didn't want the subject to look "boxed in". DOF was super important and her eyes really sold it. One of my absolute faves. The shot had just enough tonal range to work. Got lucky... nuff said.
