About Me
I have been shooting as an amateur photographer for about 20 years. I was a sucessful engineer by profession, but decided not to enter photography commercially when I retired. (Edit: MM has helped me reduce any urge to enter the business.) I am a self taught photographer who enjoys shooting models and having interaction with people. I attend shoots when they are available in Florida, Alabama and Ohio. I have started to show my work at various opportunities and have been pleased by some good comments.
Living near Pensacola I shoot local interest items. These include: Mardi Gras parades, Blue Angels Beach Airshows, 5-10 K Races, Ft Pickins, the most beautiful sunrises, wildlife, and The Pensacola Artfest, which has an outdoor dance program ranging from modern to ballet (see Richpix). I also shoot some on an individual basis. I keep trying to improve my techniques and am particularly interested in my switch from film to digital. A passion that I have is natural light photography, so shooting models at sunrise/sunset is desireable. I have had the privilege of shooting a ballerina last year. Amy is not a model listed anywhere. I have titled her the "bellibone ballerina". So you don't have to go to a dictionary, bellibone is beautiful inside and out. To those of you on MM that helped me prepare for this in the forums, I am very thankful. The 3 picture sequence with Tiffiny started with beach picture in shallow water. A big breaker came in and you can see it behind her in the first shot. It picked her up and then dropped her. We laughed. Since my original avatar was too callipygian, I changed to the last Tiff shot to maximize the mayhem. I posted another recent Picture of the beautiful Tiffiny, so you could see her dry. Personal reference begun 12/11/07: I shot Nikki Haley,3130270, recently. I was hoping for some good 'Daisy Duke"type shots. She hit a home run! I shot Keira Grant, 799498. She met me on time. She contributed some good ideas, posed very well, and was very cheerful - nice smile. I will likely shoot her again. She is in my recommended group. I have worked 3 times with Elizabeth, 10798. She has been on time except for the poor traffic conditions in DC last shoot. She called me. She is an excellent model, very cheerful, and a hard worker. I would not hesitate to work with her again. I recommend her highly. I shot with AmberG, 10541. We had to reschedule due to a traffic problem in DC that caused a 3 hour delay, it was on the news. She was ready and was very excellent to shoot with. Very good communicator. I would shoot with her again. I recommend her highly. I shot with Elkie Cooper, 821240 several years ago (~2002). I just found out today (11/30/09) that she has started modeling again. She put up with me learning to use my first digital camera (Oly C720). I had a great shoot and recommend her highly. One of the pictures from that shoot is shown here. Credit Notes
