About Me

Scott James has been a professional photographer since 1997. Over the course of the past nine years he has explored the many facets of landscape, architectural, commercial, portraiture, and fashion photography. In 2004 he began practicing his art-form under the name  Captivus. Currently, the  Captivus portfolio is undergoing a strategic evolution toward the editorial fashion industry. This evolution is something that the photographer believes would benefit from the feedback of socially conscious, open minded, creative individuals. It is the goal of Captivus as a creative entity, to challenge and entice the visual prowess of the discerning eye.

The purpose of Captivus maintaining a profile on this site is to gain honest, critical, and constructive feedback from anyone who feels compelled to respond to the art. As a photographer I believe it is important to constantly check myself and make sure that I continue to grow and expand upon my creative vision. So if anyone out there has something to say... bring it on. I may not buy it, but I think it's important, as an artist, to open myself up to all forms of criticism. ...So check out the site...
