About me
Hi guys and dolls!
I am passionate about photography! Have been since I can remember. I am on a wonderful journey in pursuit of excellence and fantastic creativity and I am thankful to be able to explore my creativity with the help of very talented people.
I am blessed to be able to work with many great models that over the years have each contributed to my learning. I am also blessed to have been afforded the opportunity to work in a world-class digital department of a national photography company that brought me up to speed on imaging, post-editing, printing, workflow, etc.
I am passionate about music as well! I really love shooting live music.. These days, I am shooting a lot of live music, bands/artists, models (fashion/glamour), and headshots.
For me, creativity is a never ending process of building that neural network wide enough that runs between my left and right hemispheres. and, so, I cherish creative individuals who want to explore, have fun, and share in the journey...life is grand, and i'm here to serve, teach, and be taught.
I'm all about building great relationships too!...One of the most important things that will determine if a shot or shoot stands out from the rest, is the rapport between the photographer and model. Another huge thing, among others, is the ability to direct, and that doesn't just mean saying "do this" it also means being ingenious to evoke desired emotions. Commands combined with story telling and word pictures and whatever else you can muster to elicit a look or a laugh or a bawl. The key is your "gift of gab".
I am a student of light and love how the different color temperatures affect how we see things....being a live event photographer, I have little control over the light at all...my experiences in dealing with constantly changing light combined with motion and constantly changing subjects , have really helped me sharpen my skills for stopping time at just the right moment..but, to be sure, by far, the greatest benefit has been to have understanding seep in over the years of what different light sources will do to a subject...and sometimes...it's awesome to discover an effect that you couldn't fully anticipate...
