Note: Re: TF shoots, effective immediately, I am having to severely restrict the number of TF* shoots I do, due to overwhelming demand and the amount of time we spend on preparation and post-processing. Still I am always especially looking for great new faces, and models who are dedicated enough to communicate and be reliable, creative, industrious, and collaborative.
When doing TF*, I need to strictly limit the result to a maximum of twelve fully processed images from a shoot. Printing or processing of more photos costs extra (but very reasonable), and I strongly prefer doing the printing (at near cost) rather than giving out lower quality files for usually poorly controlled commercial or home printing. It's worth it if you are aiming for a well presented portfolio.
Among the hallmarks of my style are:
1)
Dedication. We do long shoots, work hard, and have fun. I welcome any and all escorts, work with assistants, keep a stocked, constantly evolving wardrobe and dressing room, and do entirely in-house, extensive post-processing.
2)
Collaboration! I like meeting before and after a shoot. Consider that a requirement for TF*. For out of town subjects, there are ways to make the equivalent process happen remotely.
3)
Professionalism. PLEASE do not contact me or make plans with me unless you are serious about showing up, and in the habit of communicating regularly and reliably. Intermittently and inexplicably missing models should find another photographer.
4)
I will work with models of any age. However, if you are under 18, please be sure your parent or guardian is on board from the beginning, and willing to accompany you.

I am the head of MPA Photographics, established in 2000 in Greensboro, NC. I also do Photoshop and Digital Photography lessons, and have taught photography at the University of North Carolina at Greensboro.
Before venturing into portraiture and fashion three years ago, my previous work has been photojournalism, fine art streets, and landscape photography. I built and managed rental darkrooms in Boston, and worked in medical research imaging. I have organized and participated in a variety of exhibits, including the traveling exhibit of Eastman Kodak, SECCA, the Silver Gallery, the Center for Creative Leadership, and had one man shows in Chapel Hill, Boston, and Greensboro.
