Art either mirrors emotion or triggers it...great art does both.
I find nothing more enjoyable than collaborating with others in the creation of art. I love the entire process, from identifying and expanding ideas, to prop and style development, to incorporating the model's sense of personality and style. I remain committed to the experience from the first shot to the final presentation of every curvy pixel.
My desire is to create amazing results with a focus on quality, collaboration and creativity. I have found that working with like-minded people that expect quality results and are committed to the process is the best way for me to achieve my goals.
A few things about the way I work...
At this time, I am accepting limited trade work but feel free to make contact and discuss this with me. From a typical trade shoot, images will be selected for edit with the amount of final processed shots depending on the complexity of post-processing. I will provide high-resolution and web versions for promotional use purposes. Commercial terms discussed separately. Terms of paid shoots will be discussed specific to the individual shoot, model and/or client. Please contact me for my rates in the event that I am not accepting trade work -- we can try to negotiate something that will work for both of us.
While I have developed a passion for concept photography, I haven’t limited myself to a specific genre. I enjoy shooting beauty, glamour, editorial, fashion, etc. Along these lines, I prefer to plan and produce my shoots around a predetermined and developed concept piece with the model and stylist, as well as shooting later set/s of the above mentioned genres—whichever we decide on in the planning process.
Nudity/ Implied Nudity
Nudity is NEVER mandatory and rarely incorporated into my work. The only time nudity or implied nudity will be suggested (and it will be very early in the process) is if it supports the primary concept. Otherwise, I will assume that nudity isn't an area of interest unless the model specifically suggests it. There are plenty of creative and beautiful ideas yet to be shot that require absolutely zero nudity.
I highly prefer to shoot with MUAs, hair stylists and wardrobe stylists on projects as I am very aware of the impact that they can have both in the planning and creative process, and definitely in the result. While not all shoots absolutely require these skills:
* if you contact me, I'll assume you will provide the MUA/Stylist (unless we discuss otherwise)
* if I contact you, you can assume I will provide the MUA/Stylist (again, unless we discuss otherwise)
I prefer to collaborate with models, MUAs and stylists well prior to the shoot either via MM, email, texting, or by my preferred method of communication, the good old telephone. I do expect that will we have at least one phone conversation before we shoot as I have yet to find a better communication vehicle and find this is the best way to nail things down as well as discover new questions. I insist that models provide me with the appropriate contact information in a timely fashion so that we can expedite the planning process and stay in touch as needed, but never more than necessary—I’m just as busy as you are!
I let a model take my portrait once. Never again!
