*New bio coming soon*
"I'm an instant star. Just add water and stir." -David Bowie
Greetings! Welcome to my port.
My name is Caitlin Blair and I just turned nineteen. I have my own photography company, Dark Alchemy Studios, that I've been working on since I was sixteen. I'm learning more and growing everyday. Aside from trying to get my business off the ground (I work in all areas, from photography and editing, to makeup and lighting), I devote my freetime to modeling and networking.
ALTHOUGH I DO PHOTOGRAPHY, THIS IS NOT A PHOTOGRAPHY PORTFOLIO! THIS PROFILE IS FOR MODELING ONLY! No job offers about photography, please. I will have a seperate profile for that soon. Thanks.
What I hope to achieve by having this account is to meet creative photographers who are serious about what they do and are willing to work/collaborate with me to produce highly artistic photos and add a little oomph to both our portfolios, or if you prefer, just plain make a living off of our combined talents. I am very passionate about what I do. I live and breathe art everyday, and can be quite a perfectionist.
My main goal: I would like to do more than just stand in front of the camera and look pretty. I believe that true modeling is about modeling
something, a product, or conveying a creative concept, not just posing for the sake of posing. I would love to network with more clothing/jewelry designers and distributors, no matter how big or small, so I can help you promote and sell your merchandise.
Modeling is not just a hobby to me, it's a business, and I want to work with others that feel the same way.
I'm not tall enough for mainstream runway shows, but I have never let that stop me from persuing my dreams in the modeling industry. I am a great candidate for printwork and advertisements. I'm photogenic, I have an edgy, interesting look, I can be versatile when the job requires it (yes, I am open to changing my hair), I take direction well, and I also have experience with photography, makeup, and styling, so I can have a lot of creative input when it comes to doing a photo shoot. I am reliable and on time to all shoots, and I take my work seriously. Although I haven't had as much experience yet as other models and cannot be considered a "professional" model, I still have a professional attitude. Also, it's a great bonus for me to work with photographers who are very professional with both their work
AND their attitude--positive attitudes and nice dispositions, please--if you're miserable, I'll feel it, and I'll be miserable, too, thus making our work lackluster (I've dealt with this before).
Please
do give as much direction as you'd like and critique me if you please during a shoot.
Taking and giving critique helps us all improve, and I respect it. I believe that if artists, no matter what field or level you are at, cannot handle helpful criticism, then they have an inflated ego that needs to be brought down to Earth. The truth. There. I said it.
Having said that...
My usual style is gothic/alternative, but I do not want to limit myself to only that genre when it comes to modeling. As much as I have always loved dark, high fashion shoots, I'd like to be available for any type of style that you need/desire.
I DO NOT do full nude shoots, sorry! I live in the east suburbs of Cleveland, OH, but I am open to traveling for a shoot, depending on the assignment and compensation. The compensation doesn't necessarily mean pay, either, maybe just traveling & hotel fees, clothes, prints, notoriety, etc.
I am open to doing TF* shoots only with photographers that I feel have exceptional work, who are edgy and promising. I've been told time and time again that I must work my way from the bottom up--I understand that, but I refuse to work with a photographer if I do not like their work or if I do not trust them to take photos of me, even if they were to shoot me for free--again, I can't help but be a perfectionist.
Other than modeling and photography, I have other talents I spend my time focusing on. I have seven years of dance experience, from classes to city and state-wide competitions (references upon request), as well as some acting and public speaking experience, so I am open to any offers in those areas. I'm also a songwriter in my spare time, writing lyrics and playing piano/keys. I'm hoping to get a band together when the time is right.
I'm just starting out in the modeling industry, but I've learned and gained a lot from the few professional shoots that I've done so far, and I believe that I have much to bring to the table in future shoots and job prospects. I'm easy to shoot with (definitely not a diva), creative and hard-working, with big aspirations. You will not be disappointed. =]
