My main website:
People ask me all the time in regards to my work, “what do I like to shoot?” A simple yet direct question, but one I have difficulty answering. I usually answer with a short bulleted list of something recent I shot or change the subject to one specific project as an example.
My style is journalistic in nature, and is especially true in photographing people. The true art is not just capturing a good image of someone, but capturing their personality. Capturing ‘their’ moment in that moment. In photography, technically speaking, it is a best practice to focus your lens on a person’s eyes to achieve maximum sharpness of the image. But in that, if you are paying attention, it is amazing what you can learn about a person in those moments of focusing on their eyes. If you can capture it, turns a great image into a phenomenal image.
I photograph what I see, where I live, and where I’m at.
Simplicity. Complexity. Beauty. Disgust. Memorable. Dramatic. Timeless. Breathtaking. Vibrance. Sheik. Contemporary. Antique.
I love to discover the unique out of the ordinary.
The range of subjects may be vast, but I find myself drawn to photographing in macro, people, and dramatic color or lack thereof (black and white).
