Nic Coury is a professional photographer based in Monterey, Calif.
In 2006, he graduated from California Polytechnic University, San Luis Obispo with a degree in journalism with an emphasis in newswriting.
Much of his inspiration and style comes from the French new wave films of Jean-Luc Godard and the work of David Lynch. Nic wants each photo to tell a story or an aspect of his subject's personality.
Nic prefers to think differently and shoot differently in order to shoot new and unique work. He likes to make the photo a collaborative effort where both parties have input and create a soul behind the image, rather that just another photography.
He specializes in unique portraiture with a journalist style in both digital and film media.
He currently works as the staff photographer for the Monterey County Weekly.
