Okay so this is my story. To commence, I love the Lord, my Family and Friends(which are family), giving food or a couple of dollars to the homeless, because you have no idea what life they've lived, the adversity which they have overcome or are presently facing, the Law, creating food and making people laugh! I am from the Southside of San Antonio, TX. I come from a single family, broken home, limited financial income, once moved to five different schools in one academic year, don't really know my father to well, and because of it all, I am a STRONGER man today. That's where I came from! Nowwww where I am GOING!! I am the first college graduate in my family, which I am most proud of and humbled by. I earned a B.A. in Political Science, and am a month away from finishing my first year of law schol at the University of Denver Sturm College of Law. I want to use the law to effect social change and balance the scales of injustice. I'm not doing it for the money at all!!! Why? Because when I die I won't take a penny with me. However, if I can touch or change a life. The ramifactions of my actions will echo an eternity. I also want to be secure enough to take care of my wife and children, and provide a strong voice for the less fortunate within our judicial system, most likely by way of legal representation.
One day I hope to start a scholarship foundation that will help underprivileged children pay for a solid college education. So that they may find their own voice, and maybe advocate for others as well. Aside from law school, I am actively pursuing a career in the modeling industry. Not for the glamour, fame or vainess, but to use whatever exposure comes with the industry to showcase all the social injustices that need attention. I believe if someone looks up to you; you should extend your hand and pick them up. By nature or genetics, I am a ambitious and goal oriented individual who loves to learn about the many different facets of life. Some say I have my head to far in the clouds and that I am to much of an Idealist....maybe, but so were many of the greats that walked this Earth and if they only thought small and rational, and listened to those around them then our world would look very different today. Besides, why would you want to limit or cap your potential. The fact that most of us only use 6-8% of our brains potential, only makes me WANT TO THINK AND DREAM BIGGER!! You want something?! GO GET IT. PERIOD!!!
I have set high goals for my academic and professional endeavors and even higher ones for the family I hope to have one day. Hmmm...I really believe I have the world's greatest and funniest friends. I believe the glass is twice as big as it needs to be. I believe my Mexican Lasagna is wicked good. I believe in the power of forgiveness and never judging a book by it's cover. I believe that we are all equal before the eyes of God. I believe there are two sides to every story. And at the end of the day who are we to judge. I believe that happiness is found from within. I believe that I will be the father to my children that I never had, and I'm going to be a DAMN good one!!! Furthermore, I WILL be a caring, loyal, understanding, best friend, and loving husband to my future wife. I know she's out there somewhere. I believe YOU CAN DO ANYTHING YOU SET YOUR MIND TOO!!! I don't care how cliche that sounds, YOU CAN! The only prerequisite is that you BELIEVE YOU CAN! And finally, I believe that all my life has been about change yet, I'm learning that change is simply a part of life and it comes in many fashions during our lifetime. I recall growing up, resenting the notion of change, for the simple fact that I could not control it and it seemed to suppress and limit my childhood experiences. However, the years have taught me where change is present, opportunity to grow as individuals is right behind.
Furthermore, I learned that as a product of society, I have an ethical and professional obligation to ensure my actions provide a service for those within my community anear and far. I now realize what I so desperately tried to understand as a young boy. Change is simply a product of life, yet it plays an influential role in defining who and what we are and will become. Today, I stand as an agent of change for those individuals within our society that are less fortunate and seek the law as a means to improve their communities and change policies and institutions that affect their lives. This commitment has inspired me to attend law school so this progressive change can be accomplished." Most importantly, the ability to embrace change is paramount! I believe change is Life's agent for doing away with the old, and bringing in the new. Now you may apply that principle in your own life, but remember to always dream and think BIG! One of my favorite quotes, is "The saddest thing in Life is wasted talent."
Sooooo..... I will tell you to continue making those big decisions and allow change to help you connect the dots and in the process I am certain you will continue discovering something about yourself and the world around you. Don't be trapped by dogma, which is living with the results of other people's thinking. Don't let the noise of others' opinions drown out your own inner voice. And more importantly, have the courage to follow your heart and intuition. They somehow already know what you truly want. Everything else is secondary. That is all for now. If you want to know anything else, just ask. May God Bless You and keep you safe.
