mono is a succession of capsule series created by Heather Martin. With each series, mono explores the spaces between art, craft, design & fashion aiming to redefine the categorical convention of these genres as well as their ideals, content, norms & expectations.

Heather Martin is deeply rooted in the Canadian fashion community. In addition to designing & manufacturing the mono line, Heather has freelanced and collaborated with select design companies & artists such as Douglas Coupland, Yumi Eto & the Lifetime Collective. Heather graduated in Fashion Design at Vancouver Community College, where she now teaches design & textiles.

mono was chosen, by Cause & Affect, as one of Vancouver’s top design firms in 2008 & showcased at the Mover’s & Shaper’s exhibition which featured several design practices spanning varied disciplines.

Originally formed in 2005, and with the recent addition of sales partner Megan Bradfield, mono has expanded into the International market, being featured at stores throughout Canada and the
US.
