Hello, I am, Zachary Scott, a photographer, model and actor. The profile for the latter of which can be found in the number one spot on my friends list for references, should you wish to find me.
First, I would like to say that I find it rather advantageous to work on both sides of the camera, believing there are benefits to both. Not many photographers truly have an understanding of what is required to model or perform, while trying to pose them, except to compare it with that which they have seen before and perhaps not having had the benefit of experience in being a model, also, to help instruct with posing proper positions, balanced and hi-lighting aesthetics, too.
The same can be said of many models, with regard to their understanding of how photography works, including lens variations, depth of field, perspective and how to better compliment the photographer in these aspects, by understanding what the images will demonstrate or display from the photographer's perspective, and so I hope to communicate well and create strong images through a better understanding, so that the best image can be created, which is what it is all about, right.
I would not be able to share my vision, were it not for the aid of my dear friend and mentor, Marie Saturn, aka Saturn Style Studios, who was kind enough to help me evolve from film to a digital age, while broadening my views of subjects, too. She has been a tremendous influence and taught me many wonderful lessons about the industry, also. For this, I am greatly appreciative and continue to aspire and improve.
In truth, I've only had one formal photography class, while in college, yet I don't believe I lack the skill, but I'll let you be the judge of that, wink... wink. This particular subject has held interest for me for years, since my mother was a model and an intelligent woman, who has been quick to teach me about the nuances of many subjects, the characters of life and how to play upon the perceptions of others and how we portray ourselves, if to gain favor, or simply to establish a presence of our own.
I try to study from anyone that has anything to teach, this is meant to include the experience of life itself, things that individuals and nations may impart and the greatest teacher of all, self.
I do not seek to become competitive with my photography, but if to be honest about my dreams, I would have to say that I would rather shoot animals and landscapes, while working for National Geographic, but... many seem to think I do this well, so I give it my best.
To those that have been my subjects, I applaud you and thank you for your time. I continue to enjoy these shots and those that I've yet to take with a wonderful person: you. Thank you, all.
I enjoy portraits, lifestyle, fashion, events, photo journalism, etc..., but my forte is natural light and limited editing. I try to stay as pure photographically, as I can, while hoping to minimize the use of programs, such as photo-shop, fireworks, Picasa, etc.... While not wishing to take anything away from anyone, I match colors and light by eye and as they appear to me, without the assistance of a board or meter either, as well as focusing my camera manually, rather than using auto-focus.
I simply shoot what is before me, rather than drawing it in later or shopping it in, as some have been known to do. I merely try to show people things as I see them, as if through my own eyes, because that is what I have to offer, so long as I can.
I try to stay stress free while working, hoping that the model will find themselves comfortable, rather than badgered. Now, having stated this, I'm happy to discuss ideas, but I only work with serious individuals, but your humor is greatly appreciated
