"Saturate yourself with your subject and the camera will all but take you by the hand." --Margaret Bourke-White
Great advice from a great photographer. I believe it and try to emulate it. It is one of the reasons I strongly suggest that I meet every model before a shoot. One cannot show up, start shooting and capture the essence of a model. And while photography is "all about the light," great model photography requires more than technical execution by the photographer. Collaboration with the model is necessary to routinely capture personality, soul, intimacy -- whatever is desired -- to create images that are emotive, memorable and iconic.
I am a firm believer that "sexy" is an outward expression of a state of mind -- resulting from a strong understanding of and confidence in one's self -- not a state of (un) dress.
Models are welcome to bring a well-mannered, inobtrusive escort to shoots and will be required to sign a mutually protective release.
Thanks for looking. Feel free to say hi.
