I fell in love with photography in 1969 when I saw, for the 1st time, a black & white contact sheet. Looking at 36 beautiful images on a single sheet of paper totally mesmerized me.
I persued photographic knowledge from 1969 through 1989 from Chicago to California and back.
I abruptly abandon photography in 1989 only to return to my first love in 2007 when I moved to Indianapolis. Many things had changed in the industry but my passion for photography remains the same.
I enjoy working with models, designers and event planners. I've covered hair, nail and fashion shows. Hair conventions and jazz musicians. I've shot 2 album covers, an magazine ad for a beauty supply house, documented many programs and events for non-profit organizations for their brochures and other print media.
I attended the Academy of Art College in San Francisco. In the studio I use Speedotron 1600 lighting system. During the roll film days I shot medium format cameras i.e. Bronica ERTs, Mamiya and Rollieflex twin lens. Now I'm shooting Digital Nikon.
My new age darkroom equipment is a Compaq Presario PC with an Epson 1400 photo printer with a 13" x 19" print capability. Oh yes....Photoshop! Can't do digital without Photoshop.
Even though I'm old school, I enjoy the new school flavor.
I intend to bring a blend of both eras. Call it a funky photo reunion.
