Hi, my name is Mara. I design clothing and accessories under
the name Indiscretion; I sell my creations on various sites (see list below). My styles are derived from goth, gothic lolita, cyber, punk, industrial, glamour and whatever else inspires me. I'm also quite partial to the 80's, and the unusual. Currently, I create two clothing lines; Street Couture for casual every day wear, and Haute Indiscretion for formal and evening wear.

My educational background:
BFA in Jewelry/Metalsmithing and Art History from the U of I, Champaign.
MA in Costume Studies/Decorative Arts from NYU.

Most of my classes were at the Costume Institute at the Metropolitan Museum of Art. I've also worked at different galleries and museums, have seen everything from ancient tribal clothing to Madonna's pointy bra, and have experienced several different kinds of art techniques from blowing glass to painting watercolors. I've also done a lot of travelling to other countries , and picked up many costumes and textiles to reuse in other ways. Designing and sewing are my passion, and I get my inspirations from everyday life!

Why I'm here
I usually take photos of my clothing before selling online, but I would love to collaborate with models and photographers for a more professional look for my portfolio (I am NOT interested in porn). I can't afford to pay anyone, but I credit models, photographers and locations everywhere I list my clothing, so you get more exposure, too.

I am no longer loaning my clothing out for shoots - either I need to be present, or it doesn't happen.
Also, if you can't get me a cd within one week of a shoot, please don't contact me - sorry, too many bad experiences.
