I also have a list below ('my mug elsewhere') of other photos.
Though modeling has only recently dropped into my lap, I've found it to be an incredible avenue of artistic expression, both for me and for my photographers. The trial and chance that go into creating a worthwhile photo are both frustrating and rewarding, culminating in an image that speaks. The model is the paper, ink, and often the mind that devises the message, and this is what I'm working to master.
I'm a full-time student and a single mother, and therefore must charge for my time. Modeling is principally my art, but it's also my income - the two don't have to be mutually exclusive. However, don't hesitate to ask about my rates, for they are reasonable and I do compromise.
I'm classically trained in ballet and am highly experienced in many dance forms, including burlesque. Additionally, I've modeled for fine art and sculpture.
Also, I'm very experienced with my own makeup and have done a variety of looks for both shoots and burlesque shows. However, I'm always appreciative of makeup artists.
I have taken to traveling for shoots and am very willing to do it. This is very much on a case-by-case basis, so if you're on the opposite side of the US, contact me and maybe the stars will align.
If ever you call me, please leave a voicemail. I don't tend to return calls to unknown numbers.
Finally, while I will shoot artistic nudes, the artistry is key. Playboy-style nudes are the limit and absolutely no adult work will be considered. If I'm for any reason uncomfortable with a project, I will not shoot it.
And... I'm Belarusian... so if you speak Russian to me, I'll fall in love with you, and say so in my mother-tongue.
"Renoir... once said that were it not for the female body, he never could have become a painter. This is clear: there is love for women in each detail of the canvas, and love for self, and there is joy, and there is a degree of sensual integration that makes you want to weep, so beautiful it seems, and so elusive." - Appetites: Why Women Want by Caroline Knapp
Though this, of course, refers to Renoir and not to photography, I believe it can be stretched to emcompass what I do and why I do it... and what makes an image (here, of a female body) a piece of art.
"I wish to be misunderstood
that is,
to be understood from your perspective."
