Hello everyone, My name is Chris Torres. I am a full time photographer currently located in Northwest Indiana. Most of my work has been in Indianapolis however since I moved back to Northwest Indiana, I work primarily here, Indy, and Chicago. I mainly shoot outdoors and on location, however I do studio work as well. I started off in photography doing stock photos but I have since branched off into other aspects of photography. I submit most of my work to magazines and other publishers as well as assignment work.
I am open to any type of photography. I do not currently do TF* however if you have a great idea let me know. If I find it creative and something that I would want for my portfolio I will let you know. It never hurts to ask!
My rates are very reasonable as my main source of income is from work that I sell. If you are interested in working with me on any print work, I will be happy to work with you. I pay a minimum of 40% commission on all work that sells. I have a contract for these type of jobs that we will both sign to insure that you get paid for your time if and when a photo sells.
Other contracts: I require that all models sign a basic model release form on any photos that we shoot except for paid work (Example: You pay me for my time, the photos are yours.)
Q&A:
Q: If something comes up and I cannot make it to a photoshoot that we have scheduled, how should I handle that?
A: If you cannot make it to a shoot, please contact me at least 24 hours before the time of the shoot. Email is acceptable as I check my email frequently. If you can not give notice within 24 hours call me as soon as possible so that I can arrange something else to do with my time. I understand that the unexpected happens, and I will not hold that against you. I will consider working with you again as long as it does not become a habit. I am a reasonable person but I am also professional.
Q: If we do a shoot for stock or for a publication, can I keep any of the photos?
A: In most cases yes. Your copy of the photo will be of reasonable web size and quality and will contain my logo as a watermark in the lower right hand corner. You may use this for your portfolio. The only exception for this is when a client requests exclusive use on an assignment shoot. Usually when this happens the payout is greater and I will be sure to compensate you for your time.
Q: Can I bring an escort?
A: Certainly. Especially if this is our first time shooting together. I ask that they do not disturb us working, however if they would like to help and hold a fill card or something, great! I could always use an extra assistant! If they do become a problem during a shoot I will ask that they leave and give you the option to leave as well. I have never had a problem with this before but I figured I would be straight forward with that.
Q: What if I feel uncomfortable with a shoot?
A: I do everything that I can to insure that you understand the photo shoot completely and that there are no questions left unanswered. If you have any questions about the shoot, please ask ahead of time. If this still happens even during a shoot, just tell me and I will remedy the problem. I do my best to make working conditions as professional as possible, but still keep things fun an enjoyable for the model as well as myself. I never under any circumstance will purposely put anyone I am working with in an unsafe or uncomfortable situation. I strive to build a trust with each and every person I work with and I intend to keep my reputation by maintaining this trust.
Q: What if I have more questions?
A: Send me a message and I will be happy to answer your questions!
Thanks for looking at my portfolio and I look forward to working with you in the future!
