About Carol, Bikini & Lingerie designer

After 6 years of living in many beach towns around the world- from Canary Islands and Girona in Spain, to Cape Town South Africa, England (yes they do have beaches), Cancun, Playa de Carmen Mexico, Thailand and visiting every European and American coastal town in between. It was only natural that Carol began a line that reflects her passion- the beach.
Born in Toronto and raised in Vancouver, Carol is now living just a stones throw away from… you guessed it, Kitsilano beach. With strong ties to her Colombian and Latin roots she has always been a fan in the more subtly sexier but sweet Brazil cut bottoms. A cut that reveals a little more cheek then your very conservative west coast bottom.
Being frustrated by not being able to find this style anywhere in the west coast and always having to buy bikinis and then alter them herself. She decided to introduce 2nd Skin as a line strictly focused on the staple of the brand , the “Brazil cut bottom.” A cut that gives any backside, from small to big a very complimenting look, which teens and ladies through out Europe, L.A, Miami, even Argentina have been flaunting for years.
2nd Skin was founded just a couple of months ago in March 2008. The idea of the brand is to be the go to line for this certain style with exclusive prints and colors selected in Bali and tops that come in 4 styles (with or with out padding and great support). The concept of 2nd Skin is to become a line that is conscience to the environment and people. To become more aware of sustainability through fair trade and using fabrics that are eco-friendly. As for now 1 dollar of every bikini sold will go to 4real.com foundation, it’s a small step, but it’s a start.
