About me
**PLEASE NOTE: At the moment I am not looking for work because I am in Denmark. I am merely using MM as a mentoring, inspiration and networking source :)**
WHAT YOU NEED TO KNOW ABOUT ME
-My name is Caroline-Rose.
-I'm a make-up artist based in the south-easten suburbs of Melbourne.
-Qualified with a Certificate of Fashion, Bridal and Glamour Make-Up.
-Completing my Diploma of Make-Up next year.
-I'm from Melbourne, Australia but for 2009 am living in Denmark but will return to Melbourne to do the rest of my studying and fully expand my portfolio in 2010.
EXPERIENCE
-I have worked in cosmetic retail, done work experience with channel 7, I was the student head of design and application for my school's Rock Eisteddfod performance last year and have worked doing minor stage make-up since i was 13. Of course, as well as working with various formals and debs.
-In March 2008 I was the Victorian state winner of the Kit:Cosmetics make-up competition.
OTHER STUFF
When I come home to Melbourne, I would really like to assist a professional or very experienced artist in my area. If you would like an assistant, please contact me :)
-I will do TFCD or TFP, but a contract will be issued.
-I am so far unable to do hair.
-I want to build strong relationships with photographers, stylists, models, etc. so I am able to keep working on my portfolio. I love to do all kinds of make-up but for now my preference is beauty.
-I am also working on my website, so it is not available as of yet. Feel free to PM me if you want any further information.
you're from Melbourne?
Hurry up and come home and we can have makeup parties! xx

No problem.
Basically you simple add another blank layer, fill it at 50% grey, blend in soft mode and then start adding colour with a low opacity low flow brush.
I have lots of fun with it, but it would be much more effective in the hands of a MUA who would know where to add the colour.
I just add colour like a dyslexic orangutan... come to think of it, that is how I do most things.

Caroline,
Check out Christy's retouching tutorials.
http://www.christyschuler.com/retouching.html
I've used her tutorial on contouring using different colour pallets (rather unsuccessfully because I have no knowledge of make-up) to add a touch of colour to eyes and mouths of images.
I think you may find her tutorials fun to play with.
Cheers,
Grant.

Hey Charlotte!
Sorry for the late reply..
Indeed it is so good when you have so many people around that can carry off so many different looks.
I just worked with a model with just GORGEOUS GORGEOUS bone structure!
We just did the shoot today and the photos needed no editing.
Photographer was fantastic and model was so beautiful!
There are times when you do something and everything just clicks.
:) I do hope that you come across shoots like this!!
It's just such a pleasure and i'm very happy :)
It's my current avatar photo.
Do have a look and tell me what you think.
I'm sure at the rate you're going that you'll be able to get into Swinburne!
They have a great special fx course too :)
Take care

Ah.. They're not too far apart :)
Malvern and Elsternwick..
How come you're all the way in Denmark now?
I miss Melbourne sometimes..
I was there for 6 years, guess I got a little attached
Another makeup artist recommended Gorgeous Cosmetics to me..
They're quite nice to work with actually
I might invest in some of their foundations
I've not really tried NP yet but I must soon!
I've heard some good reviews about their concealers :)
I would love to improve on the technical aspects of my makeup application.
I'm sure that i've gotten used to certain ways of application that could be bettered!
I think you're coming along very nicely!
Your portfolio could benefit with some professional photography which will really bring our your designs and colours!
Glad to have met so many talented MUA's on MM!

You're too kind *blush*
I still have a lot to learn..
How're your course with Napoleon going?
Would you recommend it?
I've not had any formal training and i'm considering taking a short course.. :)
I moved around a little in Melbourne, I started off in Mount Eliza -> Clayton -> Glen Huntly -> Carnegie -> Caulfield -> Malvern
Little moving dance there :P
