I'm currently a photography student at Langara College, well-known for its excellent photography programs. While primarily experienced in photojournalism (mostly at the Ubyssey newspaper), I'm now looking more actively to set-up creative shoots with models, make-up artists, and so on, in the Vancouver area. (That said, I'm an avid transit user, so no running out to Maple Ridge for me.)
As a student, the most I can offer is TFP/CD/awesome-email-attachment. (Yes, I will do printing too. Just pay me at-cost; I have an account with WHCC, so prints are quite reasonable.)
Models will have to sign a standard model release without exception. Don't forget to bring ID; any model under 18 must have a parent or guardian with them to sign the release as well (absolutely no exceptions). And anyone I'm shooting is allowed to bring a friend, as long as they don't get in the way and are willing to lug some lighting gear (or be a voice-activated light stand; if your friend/escort wants to learn more about lighting through helping, all the better). If your friend/escort is getting in the way or really interfering with the creativity of the shoot, they can kindly leave. (Protip: No boyfriends/girlfriends.)
[b]Ground rules for TFP/TFCD:[/b] You don't get copies of all the photos, nor do you get them right away. Between us, we can arrange the best way for me to deliver you the photos that I select from the shoot for display. The photos I choose will only be ones that I feel meet my artistic standards, and will be fully processed/colour-corrected/retouched/etc. I will not provide original RAW files (having the only copies of those files is the one way I can prove that I took the photos). I will provide you either with high-quality TIFFs (LZW compression, 8-bit) or JPEGs (quality 10, first save), your choice. No watermarks (seriously, if you're going to use this in a port, how rude would it be to plaster my name all over it?), though if you use them on ModelMayhem, I ask that you kindly credit me as the photographer. (These terms will be reiterated in the model release.)
[b]Leaglease (model releases):[/b] I will keep the original model release on file for as long as I keep the pictures (which in most cases will mean until I die or my photos and releases are burnt to a crisp in a firey kitchen mishap; might be I decide to try cooking with a studio light, who knows). I can provide you with a copy of the release if you request it (which may very well be useful as a reference later on for you). Copies will be delivered along with the photos, as a high-quality PDF, clearly marked "Copy".
