Bio....hmmmm......k, here goes....
For 15 years I have been moving and working all over North America from the isolated northlands of Ontario to the middle of the Mojave desert aka Las Vegas. I have been a professional airbrush artist/custom painter for all of those years and more. I have also worked in the design industries from pre press to web and around all aspects of the photography industry from food/product to portraiture. During these 15 years I have nurtured a passion for photography and focused on two main goals -
1. Experience - I wanted to gather as much life and professional experience as possible.
2. Equipment - I bought, gathered and bartered for as much photographic equipment as possible to setup my own studio.
2009 marks the point at which I feel I have qualified in both of these goals and also is the first full year in my own house and studio out in the country outside my home town.
Roots have now been set, wandering is over (for the time being), and the stage is set. All I need now is to get at it. I am looking to gain experience in working with models and using photography as a way to rekindle a passionate artistic fire I let other people smudge out in me. I love working with people one on one or in collaborative groups of all kinds. It's all about encountering those rare and precious moments that happen only once and recording something memorable.
My brother is a professional film/TV/fashion makeup artist in Toronto with over 16 years experience and is an essential part of my artistic photographic expression. There's nothing better than having him on my side when it comes to makeup of any kind. I am looking to start networking and working with models/photographers/MUA of all types for professional and creative endeavors. What is available with today's technology is absolutely astonishing and I am constantly exploring what is possible by combining it with traditional artistic media. We only get to do this life once so we may as well enjoy it and leave something behind that can inspire those that follow.
