Colour matching clothes or location or make-up just takes a little thought and a little pre-planning. It can make or break a shot.
Having the awareness of the finer details is the first step...
Obviously, the more you shoot the better you get. Having the passion for photography (and your subjects) and the will to succeed helps too...
As for shooting in crap light; In snow and surf 60-70% of the time the light or weather conditions suck! It's all just training for when it counts... But, you can get moody jems whilst shooting in sub-par conditions. (these really feel more fulfilling to me...)

Once you get past the initial sting of purchase cost with digital, it really is a superior platform to progress your photography quickly.
Just keep shooting and experiment...

thanks and yes its a piston on my chest. i also have an old fashion soldering iron on my arm.
i love cars and own a V8 hence the piston.
