A number of the images in this portfolio are either interpretations of famous paintings by Degas, Picasso and Munch or have been inspired in some way by them. As for so many people, the impressionists remain my favourite painters. Why? Because they painted light and therefore have a lot in common with photographic technique. In fact, Degas was an early amateur photographer and some speculate that he used photography to help with some of his work. Viewing the actual paintings in person is always a rush for me because I imagine the actual brush strokes being made all those years ago by someone who probably didn't realize how revered their work would be in years to come.
I also sketch/draw and am working to see if I can combine the two art forms in a meaningful way. I may ask you if I can use pictures from your portfolio as a reference for drawing and I hope you will oblige! Oh, and if you would like me to sketch you, please just ask!
I have the facility to do large format prints and can provide you with an enlarged copy of our work ( for TFP projects ) if this is of interest.
