I'm Marjolein Turin from the Netherlands. After several projects in alternative fashion,
Somnia Romantica was founded at the end of 2008. With my brand Somnia Romantica I design and make garments and accessories for nightlife. The pieces are inspired by history, often based on authentic patterns. Yet I adjust it to own design and interpretation. The purpose of the brand is to celebrate the rich culture of fashion and bring some nostalgy and romance back into the modern society.
So, what am I searching for?
All through the year I'm searching for models, photographers and MUA's to make great pictures of my collections. Sometimes commercial and functional, but even more artistic projects to create something beuatiful together. Sometimes I'm quite booked, but I will always need and want, in the near and far future, people to help me to get great pictures.
Models: I'm searching for models as natural as possible. So people with pink hair, shaved eyebrows, 10 face-piercings and such are not likely to be chosen. However, you can always ask! For different shoots I might look for different types. I like models who are capable of setting a certain mood and atmosphere. Romantic, elegant, dark, enstranging, nostalgic etc.
Photo styles:
Both location and studioshoots are fine. Think in these sort of styles:
Dreamy, magical realism, surrealism, film noir, fin de siècle, dark atmosphere, chique, nostalgic.. I like pictures which seem to tell a story.
MUA: I'm open for a lot, from sweet and romantic till high fashion.
