Update 26 Oct 2009
At the moment I'm working on several pieces. I'll probably finish pieces all through November. I'll contact people who I would like to co-operate with. You're also free to send me a message. Upcoming shoots:
Two studio shoots with new items. It will be for both stylish pieces of clothing and for some accessories. For this I'll need a studio, photographer, one or two models for every shoot and maybe a MUA/ visagist. The shoot can be creative, but important is that the clothing will be very good visible and as a whole.
Location shoot with 3 design dresses in magical realistic style. This will be really a fabulous shoot! For this I already have my photographer. I'll need 3 models, one for each dress. I already have some candidates amongst my friends-list however, I'm always open to new ideas.
Furthermore I'm working on creating pieces of clothing in combination with a storyline. For this I'll need location shoots which will be like a scene out of the story where the atmosphere of the character and the dress will be best complimented. This will probably have to wait until 2010...
Also in the beginning of 2010 I wish to do some plus-size shoot. I'm not yet sure whether it will be a studio shoot, a location shoot or both.
Oh and PS If you're in for TFP and you have a great idea, feel always free to contact me! If it appeals to be I'll be fine with lending some pieces of clothing
Somnia Romantic Fashion was founded in 2001 in Utrecht, the Netherlands. It's a one-person atelier, everything is handmade. It started out as a romantic, velvety gothic-label offering clothes a tad more romantic, luxurious and creative than the usual. It has been succesful this way for the past eight years.
However, this year it is time for a change. I am working on a great collection including the following parts:
Romantic Velvet: This is my original collection of gothic clothing, a few items are added. About half of this collection is based on historical patterns
Sober and Elegant: This is a collection that has started in 2008. It's what it says, compared to the romantic velvet collections more dark, cottony, a more historical feel to it. Less roses, ribbons and laces.
Exclusive: This collection will merely exist out of dresses. Elegant dresses, with a base in historical patterns, but no costume. Design dresses with a dark or dreamy feel over it. The purpose for this dresses can be everything from performance clothing to wedding, gala, dance or theatrical.
Accessories: Mostly Victorian accessories. Sometimes accurate, sometimes with a twist. This collection will provide capes, mantilla's, hoopskirts, belts etcetera. Eventually there will be corsets and lingerie added.
The sad thing is, I have made so many clothes and I have so little beautiful pictures... Besides with this new collection and a nice online store uphand I can't even do without!
So, what am I searching for?
Clearly with all these ideas I need models and photographers (although I have one I'm very content with at the moment, you can always ask) to make great pictures of my collections. Also visagists. Some sessions are already uphand, but I will always need, in the near and far future, people to help me to get great pictures.
As for the models: I'm searching for models as natural as possible. So people with pink hair, shaved eyebrows, 10 face-piercings and such are not likely to be chosen. However, you can always ask!
Styles:
Some will be studiophoto's, where the most important part is to have soft lightning and beautiful models.
For charactershoots think in these styles:
Dreamy, magical realism, surrealism, film noir, fin de siecle, dark atmosphere, natural, warm, stylish, impressionism, expressionism.
Feel free to add me or contact me to see if we can work together!
