HAPPY NEW YEAR ALL!! Thanks for stopping through. Wishing you all a very successful 2014!
A little about me: Originally from Chicago, went to UC Berkeley, studied Architecture and Visual Studies, worked as a director's assistant for commercials, films, music videos and TV for a long while before making the official switch to photography in 2008. I have learned from the best and am serious about my craft. Most importantly I am not a flake and I do not dig on flakes. On the positive side I love fashion. I love art. I love to travel and see the world. I love setting new trends. All of that is what I aim to bring to my photography. I think no portfolio is ever done as long as you are continually growing as an artist so I am here always looking for my new muse. I can never be inspired enough. That's who I am.
What I am Looking For: I truly believe that there is no conventional beauty that real beauty comes from deep inside us.
That being said the reality of fashion photography is selling the clothes. There is no getting around it. I shoot for fashion designers and they want to see Women 5'9 and taller weighing 100-125ILBs and Men 6'0 and taller weighing 140-180.
I do not like shooting people who look like they have eating disorders. I refuse. It (to me) sends a very bad message.
I do however like my models to emulate a healthy lifestyle. I am a little more flexible and will consider Female models 5'8 and taller weighing 110-135ILBs and Male models 6'0 and taller weighing 155-195.
What to expect for Test shoots: If we both agree on a test shoot most often I will need casting pics from you. That is a very recent close up shot of your face (no make-up please) and a full-length shot of you. Keep in mind that if we have never met before these shots help me to understand who I will be meeting at the shoot. It gives me an idea of your currant look and helps me to determine the best way to shoot you. Any changes to your look need to be alerted to me immediately. It is nothing personal but if I am expecting a model with long flowing hair and you show up forgetting your weave at home the whole concept of my shoot is now changed leaving me unprepared and I’ll have to send you home.
Also FYI I do not hire glam artist for models I have never worked with before. Wardrobe IS supplied however. My test shoots are a couple hours long. And depending on how well your shoot goes I usually give models at least a dozen edited shots.
I guess that’s it. Any other questions please feel free to ask. And again I wish you all the very best.
