Thank you for checking out my work. I have been a photographer for decades. I am constantly learning. No photo is ever good enough.
My shooting technique is very intuitive and I create an atmosphere that allows the model to knock down walls that limit expression. I feel the energy of the model through the lens and rather than bark posing orders, allow the scene to reveal itself and then am aware enough to capture it.
If I am being hired I can shoot any genre with a great eye and super execution. Since most of the people looking at this profile are models that want me to hire them, I am going into more depth about what I like to photograph and how I go about the process.
Here is more of my philosophy so you can get to know me better. My goal in shoots is to seek purity of thought and eliminate all judgment so the pure image can be exposed. This means I am always seeking better lighting, better shapes, better curves.
1) You give yourself permission to drop the walls and let the emotion out. The genre doesn't matter, it all starts with you giving yourself permission.
2) You give me permission to interact and snag the shot. I can keep up and whatever you throw at me, I will catch it artistically.
3) Afterwards, we decide what is publishable. This means you have a say in what is released. If you "shoot beyond your limits", which I think is necessary to publish at your limits, we don't release the shots you don't approve and your limits are preserved.
If you hire me to shoot for your portfolio, my rates are reasonable. Don't forget the MUA and hair stylist! They are critical to great images and they need to be hired as well.
If I hire you, we will spell out if it is for $$ or for trade. I can email you my standard release. It is simple and easy to understand.
If we are working TF, you get:
1) a set of proofs watermarked PROOF, via dropsend.com. You can then tell me your favorites. Please don't post proofs as we want to put our best foot forward.
2) I will professionally retouch an agreed upon number of shots and you can get internet size, of course, plus print size files or actual prints. Tell me the size of your print port and that is what you get. Figure up to two weeks to get retouched files or prints. The shots will have a tasteful Kevin G Saunders Photography watermark.
3) Typically a TF session will net you about 6 of the very best shots. You may find that my favorites are not your favorites, and that is ok. You don't need 20 shots of the same look for your port. One awesome shot is better.
4) My standard model release is simple and straightforward.
Please keep in mind that working for trade does not involve simply shooting for your portfolio. You should be aware that I need something out of the trade as well and my genre may or may not be what you specifically want in your port, but being a versatile model who has a wide range is a good thing. If the session is just about shots for you, and you don't want to pose for anything I wish, then in actuality you are the client, and I am working for you, however since it is TF, I am really just working to photograph and professionally retouch shots that only you need, but you don't have to pay for them. This is not sustainable and if that is truly your goal we won't shoot more than once.
If you wish to hire me to shoot incredible shots for you without the need to shoot anything that I would need for projects or portfolio, I am happy to quote rates.
I have a very nice studio. It is in North San Antonio, 1,000 sq ft, and is also a commercial studio for my other business, KGS Bikes. Don't be surprised to see the $15,000-30,000 bicycles there.
We can shoot on location too. I have complete portabilty with my lighting.
Here is my escort policy: I pride myself in providing a safe, secure environment. My team of makeup, hair, fashion stylists and assistants are pros too. If you are under 18, I insist on a parent or guardian be present. If over 18, and after our initial meeting where I encourage you to bring anyone you wish, you still feel unsafe and need an escort to protect you, we should not work together anyway as the quality of the shots would be unacceptable. This is why I ask for an initial meeting prior to an initial shoot, so you can be assured that all is as advertised!
To sum up, I am respectful, good at what I do and want to become better with each shoot. I expect the best from you and will be ready to go when you arrive. I communicate well and any question you have is respectfully answered.
I prefer to meet in person prior to shooting with local models so you can get to know me, see the studio and get a feel for the place.
With models under 18, I insist on meeting your parents and they must be with you during the shoot or assign another person to do so. This can be the make up artist, but nobody under age shoots alone.
I am very picky regarding the jobs I take for TF as I only have time to devote to projects that will be mutually beneficial. I respect your time and efforts too. If we have the opportunity to work together, you will find a supportive environment and I will work hard to find the best in you and create images that will set you apart from the crowd. You will find a studio filled with respect and caring for your well being as that is the way we can create the best art possible!
