Mayhem # 1361404
My husband and I own a photo Studio in Hamden CT. We work together with our photography -- photography is our passion! We love to photograph people! In addition to studio work we also photograph on location and events.
We photograph weddings, babies, events, models, actors, etc. We do not photograph nudes except for some tasteful partial or implied nudity, mainly for maternity sessions. We have a LOT of fun on our shoots, always striving to create unique images with impact and to capture a person's essence and personality!!
Our goal as a portrait photographers is to bring out the personality in every person we photograph. We utilize good lighting, quality lenses and great post processing editing skills as tools to help tell your story. Please email us if you are interested in setting up a portrait session or event with us.
TFP. We do a lot of TF/I (Time for Images) in the winter months (Jan-March), the other 9 months of the year we offer limited TF shoots, but email us if you have a shoot in mind that is especially interesting or has impact. Our TFI spots fill up very fast so let me know ASAP if you are interested.
We do take on paid portfolio sessions and we have several portrait sessions for models, including a portfolio building package designed to infuse your portfolio. You really need to have excellent images in your portfolio and on your comp card if you expect agencies and jobs to take you seriously. Definitely replace those cell phone and point and shoot images of yourself with professional images! We do encourage suggestions and ideas from Models for their photo sessions. We can help you bring to life the many different sides of your personality for your unique portfolio.
We have references, both inside and outside of Model Mayhem, but we understand that you may want to bring someone along to the actual portrait session, especially for the first shoot (bringing your hair stylist or MUA along is ideal). We prefer that your guest not be a spouse/boyfriend/girlfriend because it is hard to "act" in front of them and the shoot suffers. Please have your guest bring something to read (or surf) because the session will last for about two hours and please make sure that they understand that you are there to be photographed, not converse with them.
Tom & I operate in the professional manner and expect the same from our clients. If you schedule an appointment with us we expect you to show up as scheduled. We do NOT reschedule TF portrait sessions for no shows. Please, if you do not intend to show up, PLEASE do not make the appointment to begin with. Our Studio is only open by appointment only so we prefer not to be sitting waiting for you and you do not show up -- we could have either booked someone else or been doing something else. Time is precious and stealing a person's time is the worse than stealing their money because you can never get the time back.
Please reply to emails, keep communicating and show up when you say you will, and please do not cancel on short notice or worse please don't show up at all.
Please email us if you are interested in our next TF date, but keep in mind that they do fill up fast.
We currently have several projects for models with dancing or athletic experience (Joel Grimes Gritty dramatic lighting) or costumes (Renaissance, Celtic, Pirate, Fairy, Cowboy, etc.). These would also be TF sessions.

Makeup Artists are VERY hard to come by. If you are a MUA we would love to work with you; we start with a TF session to get to know you and then we can recommend you to models (almost all ask for a referral) and also hire you for workshops, etc.
