From an early age i've always been fascinated with fashion. In high school, I started making my own clothes-mostly altering or adding onto other things, because i never liked anything the way it was when I bought it. I always had a strong desire to look a certain way and dress a certain way and stand out somehow! thats how I knew fashion was going to be my life!

I graduated from DMU University in 2005 with a BA (Hons) in Fashion Design. After a few years experience working within the industry I set up my own Independent fashion label Cerys Thomasa.

The past year has been a real surprise for me, I have my label stocked in a number of gorgeous Boutiques around the Country and things are only looking to get bigger and better in the coming months, being involved in more fashion shows and fashion events.

When I first started my label, I didn't really have any direction to my designing but I feel I've finally found what Cerys Thomasa is all about. The label is aimed at 18-30 year olds who are looking for that dress that they feel simply fabulous in! My new collection of dresses are very strong key pieces and I am over the moon with the great response i've had from customers.

The designs are fun and flirtatious, daring and over the top. They include girly bows, flirtatious frills, french lace, barbie fringing and much much more. I feel my designs embody femininity, elegance, beauty, luxury and good design. I want the customer that wears my designs to feel all of these things and also proud to be supporting young Welsh Designers.

I believe fashion has changed drastically since the recession. the new trend for low-cost dressing is the way forward.
The brilliant colors and fabrics in my collection will cheer up anyone suffering from the recession's gloom.
Nowadays we are far more conscious of spending money and the high street is offering far more as a result.
The defining feature of recession chic will be lateral thinking.
