About me

Throughout most of my adult life, I have enjoyed photography as a hobby. Primarily, my interest had been with scenery and nature, as well as recording family events and vacations. In the beginning part of 2009, my enthusiasm for photography was renewed: Through education courses, frequent shooting experiences and paid opportunities, I observed marked changes in my ability and an emerging variety took place within my photographic portfolio.

I have devoted a great deal of time to photography since my retirement in the spring of 2009. With many new opportunities and challenges, I now include portraiture, concert, event, wedding, still life, urban landscape, landscape, nature, commercial among my interests. What started as a hobby has now become a full time business, "North Shore Photography".

The year of 2009/2010/2011 were dynamic and creative, and I expect no less of 2012!

If you are looking to update/expand your portfolio and want to book a shoot, please feel free to send us an email explaining some of you ideas.

We will consider TF on a limited basis, but, it would have to include something to add to our portfolio. Please contact us with your information and ideas. Pictures from TF are photographers choice (with models input) from shoot, 10 pictures maximum.

We are happy to work directly with both new and experienced models. All interactions and sessions are conducted person to person, we work with the models and not through agents, managers or other representatives.

All images are captured with the idea of possible future publication in mind.

I do use Photoshop on images where I think it is needed or I am trying to build on the image taken to portray an effect or feeling.

I require a signed model release before a shoot begins as well as a copy of photo ID as proof of age for our files where we think it necessary.

You must have an e-mail address and phone number. I do not set shoots without these two things. If you cancel a booking without appropriate notice (48 hours in advance) or don't show up for a booking we will never work together period. Your name will be added to my Trouble Model List at the bottom of my profile for others to see.

Answers to some of the questions you may have.

I do allow clients that I'm working with the first time, to bring a chaperone along and I advise all new models to be wary of photographers who don't allow a chaperon. However I don't allow anyone else in the camera room during the actual shooting. I've found that additional people in the camera room can be a distraction and makes it hard for the client to concentrate.

Clients are expected to bring their own wardrobe and should always bring a minimum of 3 complete looks (head to toe) and complimentary accessories such as earrings, bracelets and necklaces. The less you bring the less variety will be captured during your shoot.

At this time, I do not provide a hair stylist or makeup artist. Please have your hair or makeup done for you professionally just prior to the shoot or bring along your own cosmetics & hair products to the shoot. Vanity space is provided for your convenience.

At no time will I ever give to anyone, the original high resolution, unedited files. I've had some bad experiences in the past, with unedited files being posted on various modeling websites. So to protect the integrity of my images, I've adopted the policy of not providing the original files.

Can the client make changes to the digital image? No. I've spent a great deal of time and effort perfecting my digital workflow, to get my images to look the way that I want. I feel that I have a "style" that is unique to me, and the way that I shoot and edit. If I allowed others to edit the images, than they wouldn't be my images.

Just a note for clients from the United States who want to book a shoot with us. The US Department of Homeland Security requires all US citizens to show a valid passport or an enhanced drivers license to your Customs for re-entry into the US.

Note: If you want to do a shoot with us and don't have either of the above, let us know and perhaps other arrangements can be made.
