i'm just trying to put my staring problem to good use

artist living in dekalb, il.....a drawer....getting more into acrylic painting and collage-y type stuff.......i'd ike to emphasize that i am not a professional.......just a dude with an easel in my dining room and a bunch of doodles strewn around my apartment........half formally educated, half self taught.......i'm a weekend warrior, a wanna-be, a hobbyist.........but i'm trying

my interest here is primarily looking at pretty pictures......i can learn a lot from photography about composition and narrative and thematic development.......and with MM adding the artist/painter category it seems there's some good networking opportunities........plus this place is more (oh, how should i say it?)  "chattier" than deviantArt.......people just interact on a semi-intelligent level much more than at some of the bigger art sites i know of........and any kind of feedback is good in my book
