I love a pretty picture of a guy or a girl as much as the next guy or girl, but the photos that truly move me are the ones that communicate more than just an image. The photographer's ability to connect with their subject on a level deeper than surface often results in work far superior to those who master the technical proficiencies, but neglect the more esoteric aspects of the art form. I'm learning more every day and striving to turn out that perfect shot with every click of the shutter, but light meters and equipment can only take you so far. Striving to make that connection between in front of and behind the camera is the only way to take your work to the next level.

...that's my goal anyway.
