Hi everyone, my name is Matt Burns and I'm working towards becoming a professional makeup artist. Here's my story...

I heard someone say once that when you love someone, instead of trying to have them do things that you care about, it's a good idea to find out what things THEY care about and join them in doing that. Example of a father who has a daughter that loves to get manicures and pedicures, so once a month the two of them go out and get manis and pedis together.

Well I'm going to be getting married on the 22nd of May to the most BEAUTIFUL woman on the planet and when we were still new to dating a decided to put this advice to practice. I was hanging out in her bathroom like I always do waiting for her to do her hair and makeup and I thought, "Hey, I should do her makeup! That sounds fun!." So I did and it was AWESOME! We both were happy with the work I did..though it took me forever being that it was the first time I'd done anything...and I just kept on doing her makeup from time to time.

Well getting into a spot of not liking my job I decided to see if there was something I WANTED to do for a living. And while watching a make over show with my mom, I decided that making people feel pretty would be the best and coolest job in the WORLD! So I looked up makeup schools online and found one I like. It's called Cosmix School of Makeup Artistry located in Ft. Lauderdale, Florida. I'm currently trying to get into the school and wanted to get on this site to hopefully start networking with people so after I get married and we move to do schooling I'll know people that I can possibly work with. After school at Cosmix we plan to move to Daytona Beach, Florida to go to school for my wifes desired profession of aviation. We'll be there for 4 years.

I'm not sure what style of makeup I want to do...prolly just about everything...I enjoy special effects, beauty, and high fashion. If you have any thoughts, ideas, or any comments I'd love to hear them. Thanks for checking me out!
