Hello My name is Arlene and thank you for taking the time to visit my page.
I am a video editor during the day and a certified makeup artist by night who also does hair. I reside in New York City where I travel all over the city to work with new and old clients.
As a freelancer, I consider makeup to be a way to express my art. Skin is my canvas with no limitations. I can create any look that is desired of me with no hesitation. I also can do bodypainting which is definitely a fun and relaxing experience for both me and my clients. The majority of the shows or shoots that I work, I edit an awesome video of the "behind the scenes." I do it for fun and only if time permits.
I have had the opportunity to work with very talented photographers, models, hair stylists and designers. I've worked behind the scenes from anywhere from fashion shows, weddings, burlesques dancers, special effects, boudoir, live bodypainting events, winning 1st place in makeup contests, etc.
Here are a few things you should know about me. I am not a flake and I am punctual. So I would expect nothing less in return. If you know you are a flakey person, you might want to reconsider before booking with me because my time is too valuable. If you do flake on me, don't expect a rescheduled date.
I rarely have time to do TFP, and if I do, your work must be exceptional and beneficial to both of our portfolios. But don't let that stop you from messaging me anyways. If you are a photographer and TFP is agreed, I would expect the photos within a reasonable amount of time. Taking 2 months to give back photos is not reasonable. Giving me only 1 photo after a 6 hour shoot is definitely not reasonable. Do keep in mind, I get booked really fast, so don't wait till the last minute to contact me. I can do both hair and makeup, but before booking me...we must have an agreement beforehand of my expected services. If we agree on a paid assignment for makeup only...and the day of the shoot you decide you want hair and makeup, expect the price to change.
My prices are very reasonable, so feel free to ask. If we agree on a paid assignment that is more than 2 weeks in advance, I will require a 50% deposit paid through paypal to secure the date. If you are unwilling to pay a deposit, I reserve the right to book the date to someone else that's willing to pay. Even though I love what I do, it is still work and I do take my work seriously.
I take pride in my work and my satisfaction is seeing another satisfied client. I absolutely love what I do. If you are interested in collaborating together, then I'd love to hear from you.
