About Me

JUJUBE® is an ecological brand. Our prêt-a-porter women’s wear attempts a holistic approach at ecological apparel design by combining materiality with methodology.

Using only the finest eco-textiles composed of 100% natural, organic, biodegradable fibers, JUJUBE®'s optional patent-pending G.R.O.W. Modulated Clothing Design SystemTM can be implemented into our collections upon request from our clients. This design methodology not only minimizes raw material consumption in clothing design; it also reduces wardrobe usage and increases the value of your purchase exponentially.

Simply by zipping modular parts together to create whole dresses, the effect can be as great as generating 100 different looks from the equivalent of 10 dresses worth of material.

JUJUBE®'s eco bag collection is made of 100% recycled beverage packaging, carefully hand woven by a women’s cooperative in the Philippines. This environmentally friendly and socially responsible collection includes coin purses, clutches, make up pouches, handbags, and shoulder bags.

Designer, Founder & Owner
JUJUBE® Ecological Apparel Design
Born in Beverly Hillls, California, USA

Jujube Li was born in Beverly Hills, California, USA and lived in various parts of the world throughout her life, including Asia, North America, and Europe.

After obtaining a fully accredited Bachelor of Architecture degree and minor in International Policy & Management from the University of Southern California in Los Angeles, Jujube practiced architecture at leading architectural design firms in Los Angeles and Singapore before proceeding to pursue postgraduate studies in Patternmaking & Production at Istituto Marangoni in Milan, Italy.

Shocked by the excessive waste and pollution created by the fast-moving pace of urbanity, Jujube sought to negate the severe damage done to our natural environment by means of design and technology.

Materiality is a key ingredient in Jujube’s apparel design. To help increase public awareness of ecological textiles, Jujube wrote an article “Towards a Green Wardrobe” (Asian Geographic, July 2009) introducing the different types of ecological textiles; some of which are the result of years of research & development in textile technology. The article not only attempts to clarify ecological nomenclature, but also to classify ecological textiles into four main categories---natural, biodegradable, recycled, and man-made.

While materiality is integral to design, Jujube knows that innovation is what gives design identity. Without the innovative element, good material can only go so far. To make ecological textiles go the extra mile, Jujube has invented the patent-pending G.R.O.W. Modulated Clothing Design SystemTM. Using this system, a collection of just ten dresses can reduce material usage by up to 90 percent; in that 100 looks can be achieved from just disassembling and reassembling the same 10 dresses.

Partnering materiality with innovation, JUJUBE® differentiates itself from other ecological labels by adopting a holistic approach in ecological apparel design by means of using only 100% ecological textiles and giving customers the option to restructure the architecture of the current wardrobe.
